I Found Love (a Bones Fanfiction)

Chapter 2: Fear

Booth's POV:

Seeley Booth is on his way over to Bones's apartment because he has a gut feeling that something has happened to her. He arrives at her apartment building and jumps out of the car, barely making sure that he closes the door. He races up the stairs, hoping beyond reason that she's fine. He knocks on her door, "Bones!" he shouts through the door. "Bones! Are you in there?" he starts pounding on the door, "Temperance!" He doesn't hear anything inside so he looks for the key that she leaves for him, and unlocks the door. He steps in and looks around for Bones. "Bones, can you hear me?" he yells through the apartment. Maybe she's in the bedroom or the bathroom, he thinks to himself. He walks to to
her bedroom and knocks, he doesn't hear anything so he walks in and immediately sees the unkept bed. "She never leaves her bed unmade." he mutters to himself, now very concerned about her. He searches through her room, bathroom, kitchen and living room before realizing that she hasn't been here for days. "God Temperance. Where did you go?" he asks himself. She could have gone to Adam's or she could be with another one of her creepy stalker guys, he thought. "God! I'm so stupid!" he wrenches his phone from his pocket and dials her number. It rings until it goes to voicemail. He tries again, "C'mon Bones pick up the damn phone!" it goes to voicemail again and he finally realized that she must not have her phone with her. But she always has her phone. It doesn't matter where she goes, she always has it with her and on. He then instinctively punches in Angela's phone number, "Ange, you need to get all the squints together in Bones' office," Booth says quickly. "Whoa Studly! What happened? Did something happen to Bren?" she quickly asks him on the phone. "Just get the squints together. I'll be there soon." He hangs up. He races out of the apartment and down the stairs to his F.B.I. issued black SUV. He slams the door and he screeches out of the parking lot on his way to the Jeffersonian. He jumps out of the SUV and skips the stairs by two, he sprints his way past the security guards flashing his badge and bangs through Bones' office doors. There's a chorus of:

"Thank God Booth! What happened?"

"What's happening?"

"Where's Dr. Brennan?"

Booth takes a deep breath and runs his fingers through his hair. "Ok.... Well I think Bones was kidnapped-"

"WHAT?!" Angela shrieks,

"How is that possible?" 

"I DON'T KNOW!" Booth shouts at the squints in frustration and desperation. "I don't know why someone would kidnap Bones! There are so many different reasons why she would be kidnapped." He sounds so defeated, even to himself, he thinks to himself. "Well what do you know about Bren's kidnapping?" Angela asks him accusingly. "Nothing," he said quietly, "except that she's missing and I don't know what I'm going to do." He adds in a desperate voice.
