"Changes"

As Valentina stepped a foot out the house, she released a deep breath. The thought of her being so vulnerable like that made her feel mentally sick. As she walked with slight pace towards the bus stop, the same thought kept going through her mind. Was it a mistake?  This just made her more confused about the current situation she was in and her head would continue to spin. 

As she reached the bus stop, she checked the time for the bus arrival. It took her ten seconds to realise she was late and the bus left without her. Frustration would fill her body and anger would control her actions, she decided to call Matthew to tell him she would not attend the Festival. 

The phone would ring as she'd tap her foot on the ground vigorously.

"Hey Matt, yeah.. I know. I'm sorry. I won't be there."

"What!?"

"I'm so sorry, i missed the fucking bus."

"Well-I-I don't know what to say. We've planned this since like, last month."

"I know, Matt. Don't guilt trip me."

"Whatever. Bye."

Matt ends the call on a negative note and Valentina's anger level increased by 50%. She shakes her head as she removes her head band and throws it to the ground with force. 

"Un-fucking-believable." 

She begin walking towards the coffee shop to just sit down and have a nice coffee but instead she sees Jett and her peaceful time out was ruined. 

"Jett? What are you doing here?"

"I was getting coffee like a normal person does.."

"Yeah but, you could have done that at home."

"I could've but I didn't."

"Right.. Well i'm going home no-"

"No, stay. Join me."

"Er..I'm alright thanks. I need some sleep."

"True, you were very activ-"

"Jett. Just..shut up."

Jett's face would immediately drop as he would begin to frown as if she did something very inhumane. 

"Don't talk to me like that."

"Excuse me?"

"I said, don't talk to me like that."

"Right, well.. I'm going home now. Bye Jett."

Valentina would furrow her eyebrows with confusion and disgust as she'd question why he was treating her like his own daughter. Jett would then turn around, his back facing the door and sliding out his phone. He'd dial a number and wait for the person on the other side to respond. 

"Watch her. I don't want her leaving the house unless i'm with her. Understood?"

"Yes, sir." The voice was deep and intimidating, almost as deep as Jett's but a little more mature. 

Jett would end the call, putting his phone back in this jacket's pocket before exiting the coffee shop with his drink in one hand. 

Valentina would close the door behind her as she'd place her coat on the rack, her brother running downstairs to greet her. He looked ecstatic. He'd be holding a toy in his hand that Valentina could not recognise. 

"Val! Look what Dad bought me!"

"Oh yeah, looks great. What is it?"

"It's-it's a dinosaur.."

"Ohh, that's a very scary looking dinosaur you have there."

"I know, right!?"

"Yeah..I'm gonna go upstairs to do some revision, don't come in okay?"

"Okay.." Immediately after saying that, he went running towards the living room where Valentina's mother was. Rolling her eyes, Valentina would walk upstairs as she'd feel quite agitated. 

A few hours on and no 'revision' done, Valentina would be laying on her bed whilst listening to the thunder outside. She thought the sound of thunder was quite soothing to her, however right now she was not feeling soothed or calm at all. She felt as if there was a presence around her, like she was being watched. She looked out the window to see a masculine looking figure beside the small tree in her front garden. Before running as fast as she could down the stairs and towards the front door, Valentina's face went pale with fear. Shivers crawling down her spine and her eyes widening. Once opening the door and running out, she shouted:

"Jett!? Where the fuck are you, you freak?"

No response. 

"Come out right now!"

"Woah, woah, woah.. Why are you screaming?" 

Valentina jumped at the voice of her father and her breathing becoming fast and deep.

"Oh my god, Dad. You scared me." 

"I'm sorry, lovely. Come inside where it's not raining."

Her father wrapped his arm around the back of her neck before leading her inside and closing the door behind them. 

"Sit down."

She'd sit down as told. 

"Why were you shouting like a mad-woman and who the hell is Jett?"

"Where to begin.."

"Val..tell me before I get paranoid."

"Jett is my boyfriend and we had a bit of a fall out before I got home."

"You have a boyfriend? And you've never introduced me to him?"

"Yeah dad, but that's not the point. I saw him outside the house and once I went outside he was gone.."

"He was outside?" 

"Yes!"

"Right, in that case.. I think it's fair for you to stop seeing him then."

Valentina would sigh at this, knowing it was for the best for her and her family's safety as she didn't know whether or not Jett is a threat.

"Okay.."

"Now, go and have a nice hot bath. But don't use all the hot water like you did last time." 

"I won't, don't worry." 

Valentina would slowly walk up the stairs whilst deep in thought. She was thinking whether or not she wants to see him anymore, but she couldn't deny that she still has rather strong feelings for him and maybe he felt the same. She'd walk into the bathroom and start running the bath, removing her wet and oversized t-shirt. She'd pause for a minute as she heard a faint noise coming from her bedroom. Valentina would slowly and cautiously walk into her bedroom, afraid and scared, she'd push the door open. Nothing was there but her phone was still ringing. She'd release a deep breath of relief before picking up her phone and seeing the calling ID. She'd immediately drop the phone in fear onto her bed rushing back into the bathroom.....

Hey y'all, I apologise for the very late update as it's been basically a year.  I've just been super busy and wasn't necessarily inspired enough (for year lol). I also apologise for the shitty plot of this chapter as I kinda rushed this because I wanted to publish this ASAP for you guys, however I do plan a very eventful chapter and hopefully that'll be publish in the next 1-2 months (maybe sooner or later cos idk, I'm bad at organising).
