In which Malia visits the boy who found her in hospital.
-
Malia wandered towards Beacon Hills hospital, ambling behind Scott. The sun was paling, only revealing weak rays rather than the strong and blinding sunlight you would expect in the middle of September.

Malia had only learned that it was September two weeks ago, when she was found by the likes of Isaac Lahey and the rest of his pack. Unsure of how to react to the situation of being a human girl once more, and dealing with the grief of her family, Malia had isolated herself, until Scott McCall had taken it upon himself to remind her that she owed Isaac a Thank you.
There was only a slight issue with this.
Due to a recent event with the kitsune, Kira, Isaac had been involved in an accident, In which he suffered an electrocution that was even fatal to werewolves. He was currently in a deep coma, surrounded by nurses and doctors at the hospital.

It was only credit to Melissa, Scott's mom, that she was allowed to see him at all, but thankfully Melissa had taken Pity upon the girl who had been a coyote for nine years.
Malia was shaken from her thoughts as a gust of air conditioning washed over them as they stepped through the doors of Beacon Hills hospital.

Scott gave her a sideways glance, to which she responded with a glare.

"What?" Malia snapped.

Scott sighed and raked a hand through his hair.

"I'm just worried about Isaac, that's all." He mumbled.

Malia said nothing, not knowing how to tread carefully with touchy subjects such as this. Obviously, grieving for a family that she'd killed was slightly different.

Melissa appeared from behind the counter, and smiled at them both.

"You can go in now," she said, inclining her head towards a door marked Number 148.

Scott nodded, and started towards the door, only pausing for a moment outside before pushing down on the handle and entering. Malia stumbled in after him, and squinted into the dim room.

Lying on his back, with his head facing to the left, was a boy. If you looked from the right he could be merely sleeping, his eyes closed in peaceful tranquility. From the left, however, was a different story. The side of his face was stricken with burns and scorched skin, as well as down his arm, where there were angry red patches that seeped slightly.

The boy gave an angsty sigh, twitching slightly and tensed, making Malia jump, before sinking into his pillow once more.

Malia was unaware of Scott moving to his side, and subtly taking some of his pain, his eyes closed in concentration. After about a minute of this, he let out a small whimper and let go.

"I-I can't take anymore," he mumbled, staring in guilt at Isaac.

Malia nodded.

"But I don't want him to suffer, it's not fair," he contemplated.

Malia rolled her eyes and strode to his bedside, before quickly grasping Isaacs hand.  Having never done this before, she was a tad nervous, but even through her incapability to apply human feelings to her actions, she could sense that he was in pain.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and squeezed tight, hoping to somehow withdraw the pain out of him. She gasped, as she felt a tingling sensation up her arm, followed by a searing pain. After only a few seconds, she pulled away and cradled her arm, glancing at the blackened veins.

"Crap," she muttered.

Scott sighed and shook his head.

"Don't worry about it," he said. "It always hurts the first time."

Malia said nothing, and averted her face back down to Isaac.

Gingerly, she perched on the hard chair that sat beside his bed.

"I'm just gonna..." She trailed off, but Scott understood and quietly left the room.

For a few moments Malia just stared at him, before reaching out to touch one of his curls, and then jerking her hand back.

She crossed her legs.

"Hey Isaac," she said quietly, her eyes flitting around the room.

"I suppose I better say thanks for finding me."

She was just about to add more when the door opened, and Melissa poked her head inside.

"I'm sorry sweetie, but visiting hours are over," she consoled.

Malia nodded and stood up, shoving her hands into her pockets. She walked towards the door, and then turned around for a moment.

"Bye," she whispered, and then left the room, shutting the door behind her.
