_______________

I was informed on arriving fashionably late to events like these. Camilla had told me to avoid being among the first guests to arrive and since it was scheduled to last all night, I'd figured I'd arrive about two hours into it.

I wasn't surprised to be pulling up into a massive home. She was old money, and she'd long had a family fortune. Her house sparkled with liveliness and her driveway overflowed with cars coming and going. Music boomed throughout it all, ranging in all styles to meet the preferences of guests. And to think that she'd put together this entire thing for me. Well done, Camilla.

I stepped out of the cab and took it all in. It was breathtaking. The gardens were alive with lanterns and the silhouettes of guests moved swiftly in groups. In all honestly, I'd never been one to get invited to these things. But I dearly appreciated what was done for me.

I made my way up the steps and through the front door. Already, the guests were dancing. Some already drunk. I inwardly chuckled as I pushed my way through the crowd. I wasn't familiar with this house at all, and I considered calling Camilla but then decided to explore it myself. Perhaps I'd miraculously bump into her, or perhaps someone else. I hoped for the latter.

It was all decorated so beautifully. Still, there were lights everywhere, a long DJ stand at the balcony just above and in the back, an Olympic sized swimming pool. Some had already gathered in there with their suits.

Everybody had a drink in their hand. Waiters moved around every room carrying  trays with glasses full of alcohol. And when someone had finished, they simply placed the empty glass on the tray and grabbed another one.

There was a private section of the house near the back. It was less rowdy than the rest of the house and I'd learned that it was reserved for the old money types. I knew my golden girl would be situated in there somewhere.

After about twenty minutes, Camilla came walking hurriedly towards me with a smile plastered to her face. "Bieber," she beamed. "Fashionably late, just as I'd suggested." She held her arm out for me to take. I gladly took it. "Nice suit," she added.

"Thanks."

She nodded, "I suppose you're ready to see Caralynn then."

My eyes filled with desperation. "You know I am."

She only smiled again and led me towards the secluded section. "Now, people shall have all sorts of questions but you just leave the talking to me, darling."

I followed her through a dimmed hallway. People rose as we enter the massive room. I caught a glimpse of Alexander watching intensely as other pairs of eyes filled with wonder.

"My goodness, Camilla. Who in the world is that?"

"This is Justin Bieber," she announced. "He's a new interest of mine and an extremely wealthy fellow from the West Coast."

Alexander sneered at me and scoffed aloud. "Him? Wealthy? Please, Camilla. Don't try to be funny. Just look at the suit on him."

She took a step closer to him. "What about it, Donavan?"

He looked towards me and examined my being. "Well it's—it's—it's stupid."

"Oh darling, you've got the same one on. Don't you know?" she mocked.

He shoved his fists into his pockets before huffing and excusing himself from the room. Camilla turned towards me. "Right, then. Come with me."

She hadn't given me the chance to ask any questions as she dragged me by my arm down another corridor. Then I was pushed violently into one of the side rooms and had the door slammed behind me.
