Chapter 1

 Owen Grady POV

He watched his daughter Emerald as she sat next to the raptor enclosure. Owen knew the raptors would not attack but he still had her stay out of the cage. Her green and blue hair was very easy to spot. She was wearing her common out fit of a black short sleeve tee, black cargo pants, and black combat boots. It was very easy to tell her favorite color from her out fit. Emerald was and accidental baby and as soon as she could live without a mother her mother left her with Owen. Luckily Eme was actually a fairly easy kid to raise though of course there was always tough times. 

Blue was laying right on the other side of the fence next to Emerald. The raptors listened to her differently then they listened to him and saw her a more of part of the pack. If she is every near them and in distress they would always get as close as they could to her. One time a worker had been harassing her and Blue had slammed her self into the door snarling. Owen could see her petting Blue through the metal fencing. Emerald was the only person that could pet a raptor that easily. He was happy for her but of course envied her. 

He picked up a bucket of frozen rats and called for the attention of the raptors. It was time to do some more training with them.

Emerald Grady POV

Seeing her dad wanted the attention of the raptors she stopped petting Blue. She watched as he told them commands. Once they listened he gave them all frozen rats and told them to go. Everyone one cheered even her, her dad got them to listen. Her dad had worked very hard with them ever since they were born. 

She directed her attention back to the raptors and watched them play. Delta and Charlie were chasing each other around and tackling when they caught up. Her dad opened one of the to gates and entered the area she was. Following him was a overweight man that was in a conversation with him. For some reason she got the feeling that she did not like him.

"Good job dad"

"Thanks Eme"

The man talking to her father continued to talk to him. "With out that, we end up places like this, charge seven buck for soda," the man continued.

"Well to be more accurate it's five bucks," she told the man.

"Who's that?"

"This is my daughter Emerald"

"Nice to meet you Emerald. I like your hair by the way"

Before Emerald could reply she heard a man yelling. "Pig lose pig lose," he yelled running to catch the pig with a long noose. He got the noose around the pig but Emerald knew that was dangerous. A second didn't even pass before Echo came running over. Echo grabbed the pig pulling the man in. He hit the ground making her cringe a little but she knew she had a chance of helping him. Before her dad could she opened the gates and rolled in. She ran up and stood between the raptors and the man.

"Stay back." she commanded to the raptors. She noticed Delta trying to sneak around to the man. "Hey Delta NO," she said firmly and snapped her fingers. While she kept the raptors back the man made it out of the cage. She backed up making sure the raptors did not charge the man. "Now stay there." she told them. She backed up out of the cage and closed the door. "Good girls." she praised them for not charging.

She was caught by surprise when her dad grabbed her and hugged her. "Don't ever get between the raptors and their food again. Can you promise me that Emerald," he asked her.

"I promise dad," she hugged him back. Her dad walked out and she turned to the guy that fell in. "Your the new guy they hired right?"

He just nodded clearly terrified still. She stuck out a hand to help him up and he took it.

"Ever wonder why there was even a job opening at all?" she glanced at the raptors. He looked over at the raptors with fear in his eyes then back at her. "Yea they ate him. Don't turn you back in the cage or you might join him" she smiled and walked off.

Emerald sat on the dock on a lake while her dad fixed up his motorcycle. She sat back in a camping chair looking at the sky. She thought about how she and her dad got here. Emeralds dad got recruited out of the navy to work with the raptors and he was allowed to bring her along due to their complicated living situation. She leaned back in the chair a little to far and it tipped over back wards. She let out a small scream in surprise."You ok sweetie?" her dad asked. She saw a woman wearing white with red hair staring there with him.

"Yea I'm fine dad," she laughed while getting up. She walked over to them recognizing the lady when she got closer. Her name was Claire, a very organized woman that brought an itinerary to a date with her dad. "Hey you went out on a date with my dad once," she said to the lady.

"Yes you must be Emerald," Claire responded. "I'll be in the car." The woman said "you might want to change your shirt. They're very sensitive to smell. Also she can come if she wants." With that she walked back to a silver car.

"Ooh dad you need some ice"?

"That's why we don't date any more."

"So where you going?"

"To see one of the new animals."

"Oh can I come?"

"Yea go to the car I'm going to change."

She half skipped half walked to the car and got into the back seat.

A/n:

Yay first chapter done. Each chapter will be about two scenes long maybe more. I am mostly sticking to the script but since I'm adding a new person I had to change it slightly. Please this is my first story I have had the guts to publish don't be mean and don't judge. If you notice any mistakes like getting a fact wrong please let me know but don't try to be smart about it.
