I rolled my eyes at the countless flirtation Leigh and Teal are doing towards Sparrow, he seemed uncomfortable and kept awkwardly scratching his head from Teal's remark towards him.
"Okay you two, sit down I need to discuss stuff with the club."
"Wait, isn't this against club rules of having outsiders to sit around in the club." Malice informed.
"Relax Malice, they are technically a part of this club and they are good players, I've seen them play when we were all younger. I've known Teal for most of my life and I've known who Leigh was at the time but I didn't find out we were related until eight grade. These two were the reasons why I loved tetherball in the first place as they played against my cousins in an all-out match against one another. So I wouldn't have created this club if it weren't for them." I stated, everyone gave me a weirdly agreeable expression.
"Why haven't they ever attended our meetings?" Malice again, informing me.
"Because like I said they too signed up but I sort of blocked them because they wanted to sleep with Sparrow." I said, accidentally out loud, Sparrow gave me a perplexed look on his face.
"Ah so you were trying to get us to focus by not having any feelings for one another, I get it, but maybe next time bro try not to withheld information like that from me. I don't care how embarrassing it is or what just say it. I have no feelings whatsoever." Sparrow brought it up; although what happened yesterday was a whole different story, but I just shrugged it off for it might cause a debacle within our club.
"Sure, fine, whatever anyways we are going to go against somebody from the Detentions today and Malice I know you're not supposed to give out information today but do you have any that might help us?"
"Actually....according to Peter, they aren't battling us today, just yesterday."
"Huh?" We said together.
Mr. George cleared his throat, I ignored him but he kept on getting louder and louder.
"Mr. George, girl what is it?" I said, irritated.
He gave a fake sudden look, "Oh what nothing, I was just clearing my throat.........and just wanted to inform you that each day you'll be facing a different team." Harlow hinted as he spun in his office chair with wheels.
"Ah yes different team, sorry Dexter I forgot according to today's bulletin we will be facing a team called River Boyz, these guys are originally the swim team but they split into two teams and now have made their own name. They will be competing against us today." Jinni announced, clutching her notebooks as she faces the desk.
"Jinni it's okay, thanks for telling me...erh....us, I don't know who these guys are but the swim team deciding to play tetherball is a whole new story. I don't really know that many in the swim team."
"I do"
"Me too, me and Teal definitely know some guys there." Teal and Leigh deviously grinned.
"Of course you do."
I shook my head and we all decided to work together, Teal and Leigh sat quietly as I explained everything to the club and our strategies and our attacks. We each have our own unique signature moves or Poly Play and it all depends on how it is used against the opponents.
Malice's signature is called Lancelot, A powerful strike that involves her to kick the ball allowing it to slip through the opponents grasp and in their face causing their noses to bleed or knock them in the ground. It's a ruthless kick and possibly unblockable that causes injuries. I don't know where or why she called it Lancelot.
Hannah's signature is called Strands of Time, a move she does where she takes her glasses off and flicks her hair, time suddenly moves slowly and thus allowing her to perform multiple hits towards the ball during her unnoticed move. It is unnoticeable when she activates this move.
Sole's signature is called Sole Purpose, he crosses both his arms and blocks the ball, because he blocked the ball he charges up and cross-armed the ball allowing it to swing over the pole instantly and knocking his opponents out of the ring, granting him an easy victory. However it has to be timed perfectly otherwise it'll miss countless times.
Jinni's signature is called Cute Expression, Jinni's shy nature comes in handy at times, her signature allows her to wink at her opponents as they make eye contact and causes them to become easily distracted, distorted, or lose focus. This usually works but because Jinni is too shy she hardly uses it and doesn't have confidence in herself that it'll work.
Sparrow's signature is called Sweet Chain Reverent, Sparrow's arms suddenly becomes covered with purple glowing chains granting him enhanced stamina, strength, and power. He instantly becomes stronger than usual and thus sort of hard to beat.
My signature is called Royal Split Palm. I am always able to stop the ball or anything with my palms, which is why I always prefer standing in the back instead of standing in the front since I can stop the ball without fail. However I may be able to stop the ball instantly, but when it comes to standing closer to the pole I freak out because I don't want to get hurt. Yup I'm a scaredy cat in short range combat.
Teal is Mercy Pluck and Leigh is Cannonball, both their moves are low blows or groin attacks, they have one of the cheekiest moves.
"Alright this is just a practice play so no using your signatures, I want all of us to use our signatures during Friday's game. And-" Mr. George cuts me off.
"Actually you guys have been moved to Saturday, I just remembered." He said, in a phony forgetful tone.
I gave him a cold stare, "What!" I paused, "You just now telling me. You sneaky a-"
"Now, now Dexter saying bad words in this class will give you a note to detention. You wouldn't want that now do you?" Mr. George said, affectionately.
"No." I gave a fake smile as I turned around to peer at my team, "Well looks like we will be fine for the time being so I'm guessing it's to build up the tension and the attention. And that's exactly what we want." I encouraged.
"Yes that's exactly what you should do....oh and also the principal loved your little game yesterday that he wants a full out battle today. Using you guys' signature moves to really bring in the crowd." Mr. George said, trying to out-encourage me.
"Why don't we just give it our best? Simple as that, I mean this is just a practice run so why don't we just do one signature move and leave it at that." Sole intervened otherwise me and Mr. George will be going at it.
"Hear that Georgia, now be quiet." I teased.
He raised a brow and scuffed.
