It was a warm, sunny day for Richmond, Virginia as Judas awoke to the sound of a whip's "CRACK!" He hoped that today his master would be in a good mood and assign him work in the stables. A man told Judas he was assigned to go and cut down lumber with other slaves. As he walked a man beside him whisper "Today I will escape to the North, Judas I need you to come with me this is no place for a child," Judas replies, "But if they find us they'll just take us back." Judas pondered about this for a minute and finally said "Alright I'll go with you." The man explains how they will escape and as the time came they slowly slipped out of the group into the forest. They ran as fast as their feet could take them, they knew that they had an advantage time wise. As they crossed the border between Richmond and Maryland, Judas and the man kept going north to Massachusetts where they knew they'd be safe from prosecution.
