The Apocolypitic Nightmare

Chapter 11

We fought of a couple of zombies but then we ran because we were to tired and exhausted to fight any more. With Jordan to my left and Brody to my right we went into the thick undergrowth ahead of us. The zombies were behind us but not by much. We ran about 40 meters ahead and decided that we would climb the trees to escape. We held onto the thick sturdy branches and waited.

Drew's POV

We found a nice place to stay at, just a few blocks away from the other zombies and it seemed empty. It was appartments they were actually quite sturdy. We all settled down on the couches and had something to eat. In one of the cupboards Toby found a transmitter radio. We would check it out later. Down on the streets you could see the zombies roaming around, twitching randomly. After we ate we all decided to test the full extent of our abilities. In the hallway is where I tested mine. In just 3 seconds I could speed down a 100 meter approx hallway. Next I will try speeding down stairs. Well we can say that I didn't end well. Whilst running I fell and at full speed tripped and broke my leg. Mel had to heal it for me and lets just say it hurt. Alot. Me breaking my leg gave Mel a chance to practise her healing. Alison shifted into her wolf which was her favourite thing to shift into because of a wolfs characteristics, they were intellectually pretty damn smart. She ran down the stairs and turned corners and dodged fake plants that had fallen over, statues and bits of furniture that had been scattered all over the place were dodged around skillfully. J practised her martial arts on Toby and he learned a thing or two.

Time lapse

At around 4:00 we called it quits and decided to see if the power was still on. To our suprise the power hadnt been cut. A little while later we ate dinner and watched tv. In a situation like this we actually felt pretty safe and very comfortable. Until later that night where we were all asleep I really needed to go to the toilet and didnt really feel like moving but I really need to go. Everyone else was asleep and I didnt want to wake them. But the need to empty my bowels was far more important than trying to stay in a warm sleeping bag at like 2:00 in the morning then to find I couldnt hold it in. So I left the nice warm sleeping bag and went to find the bathroom. I flicked on the light switch and went to the toilet. After that I felt much better and went to switch of the light when at the end of the hall, was a shadow. It looked pretty human so I wasnt worried, until I heard a low growl. Turns out that Alison was around the corner to the shadow and right in my sight and was in an attacking stance . Then the shadow figure walked forward and it didnt have the normal characteristics of a human. I was mistaken and suddenly the pieces all fitted together. Alison was around the corner to warn me about the zombie that was lurking just around the corner.

"What are you waiting for?" I whispered to her knowing she would pick it up with her wolf senses. She tilted her head in the direction of the zombie. She was waiting for the zombie to walk around the corner so she could kill it. The zombie seemed to have a spasm and lept forward right infront of Alison and she jumped forward to snap off its head. To which she succeded whilst I just stood there waiting. She shifted back and said

"Your welcome Drew"

"Thanks"

"How'd you reckon it got in here?" I asked

Alison ignored my question and walked staright towards the direction the zombie came from. "It came from an unlocked door, thats how" she said.

"Well who was supposed to lock the doors?"

"No-one, its no-ones fault because whats done is done and we cant change it. But what we can do is take more precautions instead of thinking that everything is okay and we dont need to do the small things. For this instance, locking doors and windows at night or even during the day." But for now I think just go back to sleep and we will discuss this in the morning, or when everyone wakes up".

In the morning

"Morning guys" I said before I stiffled a yawn. "Did everyone have a good night?"

" Yep pretty good"

"Yeah alright"

"Meh i've had better"

"Pretty intresting hey Drew"

"What do you mean by intresting?" Said J.

"If you would let me explain... Well if you insist on knowing I went up to go to the toilet at like what, 2 in the morning and when I was heading back to my sleeping bag I heard something and saw a shadow, and thinking it was one of you guys until I heard a low growl. Turns out is was Alison and she was hiding behind a corner because there was a zombie not too far from us. It lept forward from a spasm and she took its head off."

"The reason I was up if you really want to know is because I couldnt sleep and decided to take a walk around".

"But how did it get in?" Asked Toby.

"The door was unlocked" Alison and I said in unision. Then we both cracked a smile then started laughing, then everyone joined in. But the thing is that nothing we had said was funny at all.

We told them our drill to lock all doors and windows after dark and everyone thought it was a good idea. We made ourselves breakfast with the food in the fridge. After that we decided to try out the radio. Then something very suprising happened that shocked all of us.

Authors Note- hiya, its a cliffhanger but not for me because i know whats going to happen next. so this is the last chapter i will write in a while because i go on holidays soon and im going away so you will all have to wait. Its a sorta long chappie , well for me it is. Anywho cheerio. :):)
