Chapter 3:
Goosebumps appear along my arms at the sound of my tires grating along the gravel as I park.
Leaning my left arm on the side, I jump out of the car and sprint inside the house, taking care as to not slip on the newly polished floors...that I polished.
"Molly! NOOO!"
I barely have time to scream before I'm tackled down to the floor by Hansen.
He's clinging onto my legs and I haven't got a chance of escaping.
"Hansen get off me!" I shriek, "GET OFF ME!"
His grip tightens, "Never!" he cries like a little boy.
"Let go of her Hansen." Silas' voice mimics authority.
Reluctantly Hansen sits up off me, letting me free, "Alright..."
Scrambling to my feet, I brush myself off out of habit and turn away from them both, wandering down to my bedroom.
Opening the door, I sigh.
Griffin is lying (quite nakedly) on my bed with a bouquet of irises covering his...
"What are you doing Griffin?" I ask him in a strained voice.
He stands up and my hand flies over my eyes, "My god cover yourself with something!"
He chuckles and when I dare glance up, he has my sheets wrapped around him, though it doesn't do much help...
Strolling over, he kneels down to the floor and hands me the bouquet which I somewhat tentatively take from him (we all know where it's been.) and inside the middle one is a small black velvet box.
"Open it Molly." He orders me.
Grabbing the box, I open it and stare at the diamond ring inside. One huge diamond in the middle with five medium diamonds around it to make a flower. It's beautiful of course.
"Hmm. Cute." I laugh slightly as I hand him the box.
Griffin shakes his head, "No! I'm serious! Marry me Molly and you don't have to leave or cook or clean!"
I laugh. He IS serious. But unfortunately, I know Griffin. He won't be able to give up this lifestyle. Not when he's lived with it for so long...
"And I am serious too Griffin. I can't marry you. We'd both be miserable. Me because I don't love you that way and no matter what you say, I'd still be cooking and cleaning and you because you wouldn't be able to sleep with any other women." I explain to him and a quiet voice, "It just works out better if I leave now."
He looks really upset.
I didn't know he didn't want me to leave THAT badly.
The bedroom door opens and Jack wanders in with his puppy dog pout.
I know that pout well.
It's the one he used to use on me when he wanted his pancakes with chocolate chips in them before I became immune. It's also the one he uses to get women to come home with him.
"No Jack. I'm still leaving. Silas and I, we just clash too badly."
Jack's eyes narrow dangerously, "Silas? I'll kill him and then you don't have to leave!
A pleasantly surprised giggle escapes me lips, "Oh please! You boys are being ridiculous! First Hansen wouldn't let me go. Then Griffin proposed and now you! Murder? Really? Jack I thought you had more sense than that." I exclaim as I hug him tightly.
