BOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!
Suddenly appeared so loud noise heard by the folkswho stayed near by. It was the sound of explosions came from the south. My neighbors who were all Jews trembling and praying for God's mercy.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
Another more explosions. This time its was louder than before which came from the same direction. This time I knew, that the World War ll had begun.
Not long after, a group of German soldiers convoy came, riding Kubelwagen trucks followed by military panzer tanks. All of them were holding sniper riffles, and grenades hanged around their waist. The soldiers then shoot a group of rebels continously whom tried to hinder them. All of them died within a lightning speed. Everyone was covered by fear: some of them gave the apprehensive look on their face. Lena concealed herself behind my tiny limbs, she was shaking and weeping. We were all waiting for the convoy to circulated but then something perplexed me.
Something caught my attention when I saw the last truck passed by.
One of the soldiers wore a mottled green, white color, intricately carved talisman pendant. It was Ted. I remembered I gave that pendant to him during our last year's anniversary in a small lacquer box covered by a knitted cloth which I had spent a very long time to made it. Ted told me once he will wear that pendant that I gave him, forever until his death. Ted didn't noticed me when he was on the truck. He wore his smart M36 uniform with trench coat. He look much more lithe than before with his solemn face which looks kind of witty. Immediately, I brought Lena inside our refuge camp, which is safer for her, then I ran and grabbed my letters from my bag and put it inside my pocket. It's the letter which I had written it few days ago for Ted. Then I ran towards the convoy until I reached to the same truck where I saw Ted earlier. I heard someone screamed "pull her away! pull her away!" and I knew it was one of the Nazi generals. But screw it.
I screamed my husband's name several times until he notice me. He was blurred at first then looked away until he stared back at me for a few moments and shocked. Then he called my name mellifluously like always but this time with tears began to fall from his eyes through his cheeks. He wanted to jumped off the truck but the other soldiers grabbed his arm, preventing him. I quickly pulled out the letters from my pocket and I tried handed it over to Ted but I was too short for a military truck. Ted was still in the soldier's clenched, trying to escaped. I tried to climbed up the truck but then, I heard a great gunshot came from the back. I immobilized. For no reason, I can't move. I was numbed for a second as I felt the pain and blood dashed out as I tried to pressed my calf. BANG! a second gunshot which now was aimed at my arm. I felt dizziness and I heard nothing. I saw Ted's face was so shocked and he screamed my name out loud. I can't take the pressure any soon so I fell onto dirty, muddy soft ground. The letters was lacerated in my clenching fist. The convoy was now far infront of me and the last thing I saw was villagers surrounded my powerless body before I closed my eyes..
To be continue...
