I woke up after I had a terrible nightmare. I was drenched in sweats. It was nasty. My head then felt like a million pounds of concrete laid on top of it. I tried to remembered what had happened. Oh! The gunshot. Right.
I checked both my legs whether it was still functioning. Surprisingly it was. Now I remembered one thing. Lena. Where were she? Have she seen me like this? Is she still alived? I quickly grabbed the nearest thing I saw which abled to support my body weight - a tiny bedside table - then tried to stood up. I heard a footstep coming nearer and nearer. I frozed. The door creaked opened and my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw Ted. He looked pale but still looked good in that white linen t-shirt and khaki pants. He clumsily held my arms to stabilized my body movement. Tears ran through my cheek. Unabale to support myself, I fell into his arms. He held me tight. In a moment I felt so safe in his arms. He kisses my forehead.
"Ted! I thought you were... I thought I was......" I mumbled
"It's okay, everything is going to be fine" He said
"How are we going to be fine like this? Why this happened to us?"
"I don't know dear, but I will try my best to protect my family. To keep you and Lena safe. I will not forgive myself if both of you are hurt"
"Please stay safe Ted, I love you. Where's Lena?"
"Lena is safe with Aunt Lauren. You have not been up for 3 days. I was so worried, I thought I'd lose you."
Aunt Laurel was our good friend and neighbor. I worried was, she's a Jewish.
