It's crazy how hard another person's death can affect you.

A high pitch squeak escaped my lips as the razor blade dug into my skin at my own doing. There was no doubt in my mind that I was about to fall out right now, not because of the blood loss, not because I haven't eaten since last night and it's now 8 o clock at night, not because I hate the sight and smell of my own blood, not because of this huge blunt in my mouth. Because of the pain. Not the physical kind but the emotional kind.

Once I was done I put the blade down and took the blunt out of my mouth, blowing it on the wound. I took the hand towel and wiped the blood off of my arm admiring my work. The following letters were carved into my left arm.

K H Y R E E

Hm that was easier than getting a tattoo I thought to myself. I compared my left arm with my right arm. On my right was a tattoo I got when I was younger of a rose. Hm I like my work better

As I was bandaging my arm I heard keys jingling on the other side. The only people with keys to this dorm were Sabrina(my roommate), Demi (Sabrina's girlfriend), and I. I looked up to see Sabrina walk into the room.

She coughed "Ella, what are you doing!"

"Nothing" I mumbled blowing smoke in the air

"Nothing!?" She yelled "We talked about this El, if our RA finds out you keep smoking in the dorm--"

"What? I'll get in trouble with the Dean of the school?"

She rolled her eyes "Look lil nigga, just cause' yo' pops is best friends with mines and my dad's the dean doesn't mean you immune to getting in fuckin' trouble dead ass" she snapped at me letting her New York accent flow.

Sabrina Norwood has been my best friend since we were in 8th grade. Around that time my family and I had officially moved to Atlanta from England. Sabrina's dad and my dad were old friends so he hooked us up with a place to live. She's from New York originally but moved. Once I got there she'd been teaching me how to talk more like I was from that area, washing away my English vocabulary. Although it does come out most times especially when I'm upset or irritated as does her new York accent. She's a singer and a pretty damn great one at that. To cut a long intro short, Sabrina is honestly just amazing. Most people see her as a rude, ghetto, stuck up person but I see her as a selfless, loving person, she's very protective over the people she loves, and she's beautiful in and out.. She's still annoying though.
