Potions class was okay Koritsi supposed. She loved the subject but didn't appreciate how the teacher showed so much favoritism or dislike to the students. As an example: Professor Snape seemed to hate Harry, and he seemed to favor Draco. Koritsi wasn't sure how she felt about Professor Snape yet.
Also, Professor Snape kept looking at her as though she had grown another head.
She did well in Potions, but was relieved when it was over. She wanted time alone after what she had seen in D.A.D.A.. Unfortunately, Koritsi had one more class before lunch; Divination.
The reason it was so unfortunate had something to do with the fact that it was near impossible to find.
Divination was at the top of North Tower, and it took Koritsi almost fifteen minutes to climb the many flights of stairs and navigate her way to class.
Needless to say, she was late.
She climbed the later to an attic-like room, still breathless from the stairs.
The room was what Koritsi very badly wanted to call a junky attic. It was suffocatingly warm, dimly light, and a thick perfume hung in the air. There were drapes everywhere and lamps, and even a small fire was in a cramped looking corner. There were countless teacups, candle stubs, and crystal balls.
"Ahh! Miss Karkaroff, nice to see you in the physical work at last," said a soft, misty voice.
The voice belonged to a woman dressed very similarly to a gypsy. She had an exceptional lot of glittering, clanging jewelry and a pair of round glasses that made her eyes appear to be the size of saucers.
"I am Professor Trelawney. Please, have a seat," Said the woman in her dreamy sort of voice.
"Sorry I'm late," was all Koritsi muttered.
She saw an empty seat next to the tall black boy who had faced the boggart first. Quietly, or at least attempting to be as such, Koritsi sat down as Trewlaney began to speak.
"This class is the most difficult of all others," the glittering professor said dramatically in her misty voice. "The inner eye is a very rare gift, and without it there is little I will be able to teach you."
The boy in the seat next to her gave a small laugh and rolled his eyes as though the whole thing was a joke. Honestly, Koritsi couldn't blame him; Professor Trewlaney was, most likely, just a fake, like many other Divination teachers Koritsi had had before. However, many other students seemed very intrigued by Professor Trewlaney's words.
She pointed to Pansy Parkinson. "You, girl! You face competition this year by someone you underestimate and think is pathetic!"
Koritsi could have sworn that Pansy was eying her suspiciously. Ouch, she was not pathetic!
Professor Tewlaney pointed to another girl that Koritsi recognized from her Slytherine dorm. She believed the beefy girl's name was Millicent Bulstrode.
"You, you face great danger within the week!"
Millicent gulped.
The professor pointed her boney finger at the black boy next to Koritsi who still looked extremely unimpressed.
"You! You will be betrayed on January 11th by the one you trust the most!"
The boy just scoffed even as the others watched him, some with sympathetic eyes.
"You seriously expect us to fall for this hogwash?" the boy asked dryly.
Professor Trewlaney frowned. "I also sense that you regretfully do not possess the sight. What is your name?"
