I'll Get Drunk Again To Feel A Little Love

It was 3 am and everything was quiet outside, you could only hear the chirping of the crickets and some frogs here and there. Lou was always outside every chance he got; being a vampire took away his going-outside-in-the-daylight-priviliges. Some days it bothered him, not going outside and being able to look at the blue sky and being able to go to the beach and enjoy the sun. He wanted to blame his parents for being a vampire, he didn't want to be bitten he never wanted this. He blamed them for not being able to see himself in the mirror since he was 18 and now he's 23 and he hasn't seen himself since then. He almost wanted to cry just thinking about it, he doesn't know how much he's grown or how much taller he is or even if he has facial hair. Suddenly, his mouth curled into a smile, remembering that Andy was the one that took care of his shaving and that made his heart skip a beat. You know if he had a heart.

As he kept thinking about the older boy he heard footsteps and instantly knew they were Andy's. He had a certain walk that wasn't fast but wasn't slow either, he kind of skipped.

"What are you doing all the way up here?" Andy said sitting beside Lou, bumping him on his shoulder as he sat down.

"You already know why" Said the younger boy picking at the grass beneath him.

Andy looked up at the sky and sighed heavily, if he was honest with himself he was tired of seeing the same black sky every night. He wanted -just like Lou- to be able to feel the sun on his skin but instead all he got was a cold moon. He liked being a vampire though, it was entertaining to know what humans were thinking. He was perfect in sex, he knew what they wanted so it was easy for him to just give them what they wanted without them saying it. Persuasion wasn't a bad thing either. You wouldn't believe the things he's accomplished with his persuasion.

Andy's story was very different to Lou's. He wanted to be bitten, he wanted to be a better him and his girlfriend at the time was more than happy to comply. The transition was as painful as they all say and it is true that you feel your skin on fire and your brain like it's about to explode, but the day after is the best, you have all these new senses and all you want to do is use them. You could say that being a vampire wasn't that bad for Andy.

"Hey Andy?" Lou said interrupting the older boy from his own thoughts.

"Hmm?"

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah sure, what's up?" Andy said raising his eyebrow and crossing his arms.

"Does it bother you not being able to see yourself in the mirror?"

The older boy almost snorted at Lou's question, it almost made the the younger boy mad that Andy laughed.

"Forget it, it was a stupid question anyways" Lou scoffed.

"Oh come on, it was at least a bit funny"

"No, it wasn't. I'm being serious, does it bother you? I mean, you haven't seen yourself since you were 20! Don't you wanna know if you've changed? How old you look?"

Andy thought about it and became bothered, he never actually thought about it that way. He was used to not being able to see his own reflection in the mirror but now that he did think about it, he really wanted to see himself, see if he got old. Which was really stupid of him to think about since they haven't aged since they were bitten. But he was curious to see if his body had changed since then.

"Well, yeah I guess but what can we do about it you know? We've been like this for a long time"

Andy was right, there was nothing they could do about it, they could only complain and complain some more but Lou had another thing in mind.
