I wake to the sound of my alarm. It's 10:00am and music class starts at 12:00am. I get up and take a shower. The hot water calms me down and I think about the day ahead. I think I like Harry. No. I KNOW I like Harry. He's so sweet, polite, charming and extremely goodlooking. I step out of the steamy shower and dry my body. I brush my teeth, wash my face, apply a small amount of make up and get dressed. I decide to wear navy denim shorts and a neon pink t-shirt that has 'SMILE' printed on it in black. I tie my long chocolate brown hair into a high ponytailand make my way into the kitchen. I hear a knock at the door and open it to find harry standing at the door. He is dressed in brown chinos, a white v-neck and white converse. "Good morning beautiful. What's for breakfast?" He asks. Is he actually being serious or is he just messing with me? "I kind of just got up so...I don't know..." I respond awkwardly. "Good. Pancakes it is then. Do you have any blueberries?" He asks as he makes his way into my kitchen. "Eh...yeah. I'll go get some." I say. I walk over to the fruit bowl and take a handful of ripe blueberries and place them in a bowl. "Here." I hand Harry the small glass bowl. "Thank you very much. It will be ready in five minutes." He says and resumes adding various ingredients to his mixture. I nod my head and go pack my schoolbag for class.
"They're ready!" He shouts from the kitchen. I walk out to the kitchen and find harry sitting at my table already eating the pancakes. "Yum. Thank you Harry." "My pleasure. Are you coming to music?" He asks. "Yeah. I play guitar and sing, kind of." I say with a small laugh. He raises his eyebrow and gives me a a questioning look. "I mean I do sing. It's just I'm not very good and I don't have alot of confidence. So yeah.." I trail off. "I'm sure you're great. Sing." He says and waits patiently for me to begin. I shake my head quickly. "No thank you. I don't sing infront of people." He looks disappointed. "Please? Just for five seconds? For me?" He pleads. "Nope. These pancakes are really good. I thought you said you would make the house go up in flames?" I laugh. "No. That was Ed. I love cooking and baking. Are you doing cookery?" "Yeah. We should really be going. We're going to be late. It's already 11:30!" I jump up from my seat and grab my guitar case and schoolbag. "Relax. We have a half an hour. I have to grab my sack. I'll see you there." I wave goodbye and leave for class.
I arrive outside class 24 at 11:40 and see Harry waiting outside. "Hello. Told you you needed to relax." He chuckles as we arrive into class. I recognise a couple of faces. I walk to the back where Harry is heading. "Oh hey Niamh." It's Demi. "Hi Demi. Is this seat taken?" She shakes her head. "You can sit there. This is Perrie." She says. "Hey Perrie. We met last night actually." We talk until the teacher arrives in the door.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is Ms.Hartman. I am your music teacher. I can't wait to see your talents so I have arranged for you all to form bands or sing solo and we will have you all record your own music. I will let you form your groups yourselves but if you play an instrument I would love for you to become a solo artist. The music you produce will be uploaded onto a site that those of you that attended the computer class this morning have set up. All students will be able to download your music. I will now let you form your groups and start practising." She finishes up and my hands are shaking. The thought of singing infront of the class scares me. The students around me are already forming their groups. I'm scared. I take my guitar and sit in a corner at the back of the room where nobody can hear me. I start strumming a few chords. What song should I do? I decide on fast car by tracy chapman. It's easy enough to play. I start strumming.
"You can sing!" I hear Harry voice. He makes his way over to me. "Were you listening to me?" I ask with an embarassed expression on my face. He nods his head and chuckles. "You're pretty good." He says. "Thanks but no. Don't listen to me when I don't know you're there." I say angrily. "Sorry but I couldn't help myself. You didn't sing this morning so I thought I would listen here. When's your next class?" "It's cookery and I have to go straight there. After that I'm free for the day." I tell him. "Good." I raise my eyebrow and give him a questioning look. "You're coming down to the lounge area with me. Loads of my friends will be there." He says and throws is bag over his shoulder. "Okay? I guess so. Thanks." I say confusedly. "Yeah no problem. Bye."
I thank the teacher and leave. "Niamh!" I hear from behind me. The teacher is walking towards me. "I never had a chance to talk to you. I was just wondering if you were playing your guitar and singing solo or have you gone into a group?" She asks. "Em...Solo with my guitar." I tell her. "Okay thank you." She says and retreats back to the classroom. I run out to my car, throw my things onto the passenger seat and drive off to my next class.
I arrive in barely on time and Harry waves for me to come over.I walk back to the table he is sitting at and greet him with a slap on the arm. "What the hell was that for?!" He says and pretends to cry. "For sneaking up on me in music." I reply. He shrugs his shoulders. "Fair enough."
The teacher walks into the room and introduces herself. "Hello class. I am Mrs.basin. I will be your teacher for this class" The class erupts in laughter as she says her name. "Mrs.Basin. The cookery teacher." Harry snickers. I slap his arm and try to hide my growing smile behind my hand. She blabs on about ingredients and recipes for the whole class. When class ends me and Harry walk out to where our cars are parked. "Pick you up later babe. Come over for dinner at 6?" He asks as he unlocks his car. "Okay. See you later!" I say cheerfully. He nods and drives off.
