DESIGN OF LOVE

(January 14, 1999)

I wish for you to excavate from your system

All your past loves that needed to be forgotten

And shovel all my love, to backfill your empty heart

To ensure that our foundation could endure every storm

No shear and no flexure could ever occur

That is greater than our allowable

Even deflection will surely be negligible

For we are designed to last forevermore.
