Lapis Lazuli's Decision

Hh. Hhh. Hhh. Where am I? Agh! Where did this weight come from?

A young blue gem leaped with struggle to escape the unidentified weight.

I'm Lapis Lazuli. And I'm about to make the worst mistake of my life..

I looked up after slight hesitance.

Jasper!

I summoned my wings and tried to fly.

Strong arms held me in my place. I felt breath on my neck.

"Come here brat. Aw, don't fly off so soon." The strong gem cackled.

Oh man, Jasper got me. What am I going to do! Agh! How could I be so foolish?!

"Lapis!" screamed a soft voice.

Steven! What is he doing here?

I turned to face the voice.

It's not just Steven. The Crystal Gems are here. There's Garnet... Pearl and-

"Lapis, listen fuse with me!" Jasper whispered mischievously.

"What" I cried with surprise.

How dare she suggest such a idea? I will never agree!

Jasper didn't stop there. Her foul breath kept returning

"How long did it take for you to get trapped here? On this, miserable hunk of rock." Jasper threateningly spat.

She dropped me and looked bored for a short time.

"These gems. They're traitors to their own world. They kept you prisoner. They used you. This is your chance to take revenge!" Jasper growled.

Jasper's right! But, Steven.... I need to protect him.

"C'mon, just say yes." Jasper said.

If I say no, she'll hurt me. Then Steven will come for me.. And hurt himself.

Or even worse... She'll hurt Steven first.

I have to protect him, the gems, and-

"Lapis, don't do it!" Steven pleaded.

I'm so sorry Steven. I have to do this to protect you...

I reached out and held out my hand to Jasper.

Jasper's eyes widened and a smile cracked on her face.

She grabbed my hand with intense pressure.

How dare you! At least I listen to other Gems. You think your so-

Jasper twirled Lapis. Their steps matched each others. Jasper leaned into Lapis.

We both faded.

A creature crawled out from their fading forms.

AGHHHH! The agony is unbearable!

A shriek chanted throughout the land.

A Malachite like gem appeared.

I'm... Malachite...

Malachite was cackling.

The Jasper part of Malachite started controlling the ocean water.

Come on... I need to beat Jasper's strength!

I transformed the ocean water into chains.

"Agghhhhhhhhh!" Malachite shrieked in agony.

Malachite struggled in the chains.

My part of Malachite only made the chains stronger.

"What are you doing?" The Jasper part of Malachite shouted.

"I'm done being everyone's prisoner. Now you my prisoner! And I'm never letting you go!" I yelled.

I dragged Malachite into the ocean with all my might.

Thank you Steven. For opening my eyes and healing my spirit. Your strength will be me with as I hold Jasper again'st the ocean floor...
