0 9:

I don't remember falling asleep in the front of a Mustang. My neck was clammed, my sinuses full to the brim. My head was as heavy as Jupiter, and I struggled for my tear stained eyes to open.

"Wha.. What happened?" I stuttered, my voice weak. I attempted to move, however pain shot through my body. I whimpered.

A soft voice 'shh'ed me, but I couldn't see them. I couldn't see anything clearly, except the dark silhouette of a vehicle window and the slow splatter of rain against it. In the distance, rumbles of thunder were tearing open the sky.

"Just take a nap and I'll explain later, alright?"

"Okay," a small whisper escaped my throat. I fell back to my unconscious state.

"Here, drink this." A voice demanded. A clear bottle of spring water flew into my field of vision. A blanket enveloped my shaking body. I was seated on a huge rock, with a tree trunk supporting my back. The rain and thunder had stopped since the drive.

"Thank you." I spoke groggily.

Taking a few sips of the plain liquid; it soothed my scratchy throat. The smooth, spring air kissed my cheeks. I looked up at the person beside me, to analyse her hunched silhouette under the glaze of the moonlight.

Wren.

Her skin was paler than usual, and her worried expression was in full bloom.

"It's fine." She ran her hands tiredly over her face. She messed with her flimsy fringe that was styled into a tidy quiff. Her eyebrows pushed together, and the concern in her dark blue orbs was intense. "Wanna know what happened now you're awake?" She added.

I nodded, "Please."

My attention flicked to the delicate waves lapping against the lake bed close-by my feet. It was glass clear, and caused water vapour to dance in the atmosphere that surrounded us, leaving gentle sloshing sounds behind. The moon drew high above it, illuminating the entire edge of the woodland; it was mind-blowingly beautiful. Breathing in a fresh scent of pine-chips and old wood, I braced myself, and listened.

"Basically... after we finished dancing, I noticed that your eyes were glazed up. So I went back for your coat to take you home before you got worse, and that's when I noticed the strip of antidepressants in your pocket. Hunter and I practically searched everywhere for you. We kinda ended up interrupting sex upstairs between Katie and Jedd," at this point, the corner of her mouth raised childishly.

My eyes widened, "You mean popular kids Katie and Jedd?"

She nodded. "We got back to the back room, and-"

"The Jedd the Pot Head?" I started to laugh, my voice still rusty.

"Damn you're so annoying. Yes, Jedd the Pot Head. Now let me finish, you absolute spoon." She teased. "-you were laid out weak on the carpet. Hunter smelt your teacup, confirmed it was alcohol. Rain mixed alcohol with your antidepressants, you know how dangerous that could be?" She asked.

I shook my head.

"Anyway, I went crazy at her. She started balling her damn eyes out, claiming she was trying to make you have fun."
