-beep, beep, beep-

My alarm clock sounded, much to my annoyance. I rolled over in bed, smacking the 'off' button and sat up in bed, trying to rub the sleep from my eyes.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Selina. I'm 16 years old and I live in Holmes Chapel. I'm in year 10 at Holmes Chapel Preparatory school, which I attend with my best friends, Raquel, Korina, and Rachel. Lets see... I love music. It's my world. If anything bad or stressful happens or not, even if I'm having a good day, I'll be listening to music. It's my escape.

I put my hair in a ponytail and walked to my bathroom. I turned on some cold water and washed my face, waking myself up. I grabbed my phone and put it on my ihome, tapping the small pandora icon. Imagine Dragons started to play as I began putting my makeup on. Nothing special. All I really wore was concealer, bronzer, liquid eyeliner and mascara. I then curled my long brown hair before going to my closet and putting my uniform on. Yes, a uniform. As much as I hated it, it was the pretty much only bad side to the school, excepting a few grumpy teachers.

I came downstairs to my kitchen, grabbing a banana and a quick cup of tea. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my backpack and car keys, as well as my extra clothes for after school. I had work immediately after school at a small bakery downtown. I loved it,but not the schedule.

I unpeeled my banana as I started the engine to my orange Volkswagen bug and pressed the button to the garage door. Taking a bite, I pulled out and began my drive to school.

I got to school and found my assigned parking space in between Raquel's mini coup and Rachel's yellow jeep. Korina's mustang was parked aside Rachel. They always got to school before me. Walking into the building, I started walking my familiar path, right, two lefts, down the hall, to where the girls were sitting, waiting for me or the bell to ring or both.

"Hey girlies!" I said, leaning against the wall next to them.

"Hey." Raquel said. Korina and Rachel stayed quiet, both looking like they would fall asleep any second.

"What's up with you guys?" I asked, puzzled by their silence.

"I slept over at rach's house last night. We didn't fall asleep till like 4." Korina mumbled.

"Wow. You guys gotta get that under control." I giggled. They ignored me and closed their eyes. Raquel and I talked for a bit till the bell interrupted us. Rachel and I had the same first period, but Raquel and Korina didn't. We started our walk to Maths.

"You have work today?" Rachel asked.

"Mhm." I nodded.

"Okay. What time do you get off?" She asked again.

"9." I answered. My shifts usually started at 3.

"You wanna come over after?" She offered.

"Rach, we have school tomorrow." I said.

"No we dont, you dork. It's Friday." She said.

"Oh." I giggled. "Then sure."

We laughed as we walked into the classroom, beginning our boring day of school.

When the bell at the end of last period rang, I began the long walk from the gym across the school to the parking lot. I couldn't really complain, If I didn't have gym last period then I'd have to change for work in the bathrooms, so it was worth the walk.

I finally got out of the crowded building and to the parking lot where I said bye to the girls and drove to work.

I walked into the small bakery and was greeted, as always, by cheery Barbara. She was old, but still had a lot of energy. I liked to think of her as a second grandmother.

"Hello dear!" She said

"Hi Barbara!" I replied, walking into the staff room to grab my name tag and apron, but when I opened the door, I almost ran into a tall person.

"Oh, excuse me!" He said, stepping back. I looked up, taking in his features. He was very handsome and his eyes were some of the brightest I had ever seen.

"Oh no, it was my fault." I said, walking in and sliding the red apron over my head.

"Okay, if you say so. I'm Harry, by the way" he smiled, sticking his hand out. I took it and shook.

"I'm Selina." I smiled back.

"Nice to meet you! I just moved here about two weeks ago, so I'm new." He began.

"Oh, that's nice. Where do you move from?" I asked.

"Wolverhampton." He said.

"I've never been there. I've basically been here in little Holmes Chapel all my life." I said, fastening my name tag onto my shirt.

"It's alright. You should go sometime." He offered.

I just nodded, walking back into the store.

"Oh yes Selina. I see you've met Harry already." Barbara said.

"I have." I smiled to her.

"Well good! Selina, I've just gotten a call and I need to go attend to some family matter. Can I leave you two here for this shift?" She asked.

"No problem." I answered.

"Thank you for letting me trust you." She smiled.

"You're welcome. I hope everything goes well." I smiled back. She then rounded up her things and left.

I turned to Harry who looked a bit confused.

"Has Barbara shown you around yet?" I asked.

"Not at all." He laughed.

I gave him the run-around of the shop, showing him which pastry goes where and how to clean it up and things like this. It was a pretty slow business day, so he didn't get much practice.

The last customer came about ten minutes before closing time, so I sat up on the counter next to the cash register. Harry sat opposite of me.

"So, two weeks huh?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm still adjusting, as you can probably tell. New people, new job, new school. It's different." He said.

"Where do you go to school?" I asked.

"Holmes Chapel Prep." He said.

"Really?! I go there too!" I said, amazed that I hadn't noticed him.

"I thought you looked familiar." He chuckled.

"That's funny! What year are you in?" I asked.

"10." He answered.

"Wow, me too! I can't believe I've never seen you before." I said.

"Well, I don't think we have any similar classes, so that's why." He said.

"Yeah, probably." I replied, glancing up at the clock.

"We can probably lock up now. I doubt anyone wants any bread at 9 o'clock at night." I slid off the counter, walking to the back door. Harry followed me like a puppy. I looked back at him weirdly.

"Sorry. I just don't know what to do so I'm going to watch you." He said.

"Okay." I replied. I finished locking the building and turning the lights out. We both came out and into the brisk winter air. The wind almost immediately claimed my beanie, but I caught it in time. I finished locking the door, the walked to my car.

"Well, that's how it's done. See you later Harry!" I said, unlocking my car and sliding in.

"Bye!" He waved from his car across the parking lot.

As I layed in bed that night, I thought of the boy. He was a little timid at first, but he seemed alright. He was hot, which was nice, but he also had a bit of a funny, cheeky, sense in him.

"Oh whatever." I said, rolling over and going to sleep.
