Choruses of crickets chirruped, breathing their soft lament, as a child skittered hurriedly, stumbling over stones, and tripping over hedges, scraping her way through the overgrowth, that lead to the forbidden mountain. She ascended higher into the mountain range, causing her breathing to become unstable. People always said that Mount. Ebott, was just a quarry for miners, but there were recent cases, of children faltering right into the down-reaching trench of the mountain. Those seven, deplorable children have never been heard of, ever since they disappeared. Frisk felt a shiver penetrate through her spine. It wasn't just a quarry. A quarry wouldn't make kids disappear like that...

Frisk was escaping from the war-torn village she lived in. Her parents disappeared a long time ago. She was seeking a home. It didn't have to be near people. It just had to be a home. Frisk trudged her last few steps to the peak. At the peak, she collapsed onto the hardened, frozen, dirt of the mountain. A chilly gust of wind blew across her face, making her shiver. The lone child walked over to the giant abyss. The same abyss that the seven unfortunate children fell through. She peered down at the bottom, but all she could see was obscure darkness, and nothing else. It was just dark void. It was slightly daunting, so after looking into the trench, Frisk deliberately straggled away from it.

But something tripped her. She stumbled back and tumbled right into the hole. Luckily, she found an isolated root and clasped her hands onto it. Frisk's palms were sore, from clinging onto the rough exterior of the root. She gritted her teeth, and accepted her fate. She loosened her grasp, and plunged down, into the pitch black abyss. Frisk made a tiny squeak as she hit the ground. Her fall was eased, because for an unknown reason, there was a rather large patch of yellow aster flowers, cushioning her. Suddenly, a single flower spewed out of the dirt. It's golden petals twitched ominously. Then, a face developed peculiarly on it's ovary, beaming slyly.

"Howdy! I'm Flowey, Flowey the Flower!" It suddenly exclaimed. Frisk didn't think Flowey was menacing in any way since he was just a ludicrous, smiling dandelion. But suddenly, thick vines shot out of the ground, and entangled her, trapping her right where she stood. She squirmed perilously, and tried to screech, but she realized a vine was also covering her mouth, muffling the scream.

"I'm sorry, but you ARE a pathetic human, right? Guess where the seven missing humans went? Heaven? Nope. Their graves lie in this dimension."

What? No.. That can't be true.. Why should I believe this petal-freak?

"I see, you want proof, huh? Here it is." Flowey cackled, and suddenly, seven vibrant, and luminous hearts appeared out of nowhere. They floated above Flowey, giving off a radiant glow.

"These are what human souls look like, dear human. I just need one more, and I'd be able to RESET this world!"

"Did you hear that?" Flowey only needs one more soul! We can't let the last human die!"

One of the souls whispered.

"Wait, I think I have a plan.. We can swap the human's soul, and Flowey's!" Another soul interrupted.

A conversation initiated.

"Y-yeah! Flowey won't do any harm. But we won't exist anymore, and the kid will go on a murder spree."

"JUST DO IT! WE DON'T HAVE TIME!"

The souls suddenly flashed, and bursted into vivid, illuminated drops of goo, and landed all over Frisk, and Flowey. Flowey's eyes flared with rage, as he turned around to snarl at the rainbow droplets and at the non-existent souls.

"YOU DAMN IDIOTIC HUMAN SOULS!! YOU KNOW YOU WON'T EXIST ANYMORE!" Flowey howled.

The soul-drops glowed as they evaporated into Frisk, and Flowey. Frisk radiated a hateful aura, as Flowey yelped, and burrowed underground. The vines vanished as he disappeared.

Silence.

But then, an anthropomorphic, goat monster, wearing a lilac tunic, arose out of the shadows.
