The old American life was getting boring so why not move to a different country where nobody knows you? Sounds great....you never really talked to anyone here anyway.
You decided on looking at any open apartments so you would have an address to be Finally finding a good one you rented it and went on to buy everything else needed for the trip.
After that was all taken care of you started putting everything in boxes to ship to your new address. You quickly put your (H/L) hair into a ponytail ((or tuck it behind your ears for you peps with short hair.)) You quickly finished with the boxes since you never really took anything out since you moved away from your parents house.
When you were 17 your parents died from disclosed reasons. The doctors and hospital wouldn't tell you how or why they died which was a little fishy but there was nothing you could do about it. You had to stay with a family member for a couple months until you turned 18 and bought the apartment you lived in now.
Now 3 years later at the ripe age of 21 you still hadn't fully unpacked and you were moving to England,I mean that's what you decided on so I won't judge. You had always felt a pull there and running away from horrible things just gave you the perfect opportunity, right??
Anyway you set up the boxes for shipping and looked around at the barren apartment. Still looked the same as when you started. You pulled out your phone and laid on the couch.
Fuck this moving shit for a bit let's find some music. I choose a random song from my liked songs on Soundcloud and made it a station. New music is always a good thing.
The ran on song was 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead' by Set It Off. It was a great song.
You hummed along as you grabbed a book to read and you returned to your position on the couch. A couple songs after that some song came on the sounded very different than what you were used to.
"I wasn't taught how to get a job. But o can remember dissecting a frog."
You grabbed the phone to look at what it was. It was a song called "Don't Stay In School" by Boyinaband.
You had to admit you weren't used to rap but you liked this. After it was finished you went to YouTube to listen to more of his music and surprisingly....you liked a lot of it. You smiled at his hair, it looked so soft and conditioned. The one red stripe added nice contrast from the brown hair.
You decided to go to sleep early after all it had been a long day. You quickly changed into shorts and a tank top then burrowed under the covers. Sleep came easy to you that night, you felt a sense of peace at finally being able to fall asleep easily.
Maybe going to England was the right step to a better life.
