Aaron's POV.
Reporters are everywhere in this little town. All wanting to ask Charlotte and I questions about our friendship with the girls. Everywhere where I look I am reminded of them, and feel so guilty for holding a grudge against them. "Serial killer kills 4 girls all in one forest." One magazine states, "Ranger Danger! Rocky Lake Ranger's killing spree finally over!" States another. They are all so bold and annoying.
It turns out, that the ranger, the "nice guy" was the man who murdered my friends and Sarah. He is in jail and wont be let out. Ever.Life is a bit different without the three loud, goofy girls. I actually miss their laughs. They were so carefree and happy. Poor Mollie only wanted a good time before our lives became chaotic, Chloe wanted to get away and be out in nature, and Maddi wanted to have a calm time with her friends. This is what they got!? Life can be so cruel.
The funeral was hard. They were buried next to each other. Seeing their parents desperate eyes when they look at Charlotte and I makes my heart break. They look at us knowing that we were the last to see their precious children. I feel selfish for being alive whenever I look at them.
Charlotte POV.
Life for Aaron and I is much different now. I see the world in a new way, and so does Aaron.
We have both matured a lot from this. That might be the only happy outcome to this tragedy. The forest is locked away for anyone to go into at the moment. Strangers have been putting flowers on the fence surrounding the forest. It is so lovely of people to do that. It makes my heart warm.
The innocent-looking ranger did it. What a prick. Honestly, how could you do that?! I can't even think about it.
Returning home after the events that occurred really felt terrible. Also knowing that I could have been a victim, and that he tried to kidnap me makes me so grateful and also curious that I got a chance.
But I cannot let this incident rule me, I couldn't help the situation. I did my best. And as my councellor says-
Life goes on.
