"So what was your guy's house like?" I ask him while rummaging through the kitchen.
"4 walkers, not many supplies, the walkers were way too skinny, they must've starved" He says softly.
"Oh" I frown and turn to him, holding a can of peaches "Think this is still good?"
He walks over to me and looks at the can "Food is food"
I nod then grab my Katana, slicing the top of the can "Man I'm starving"
"The hell you doing, that's the only food in 'ere" Daryl growls as he glares down at me.
I sit on the counter and munch on the fruit "Don't worry, me and Beth got a bag full of food in the other house"
Daryl sighs and walks out.
"Hey Daryl" I put the can down then hop down.
He stops walking and looks to his side, letting me know that he's listening.
"Do you think things will ever go back to Normal? Like.. go back to the way it was before" my eyes start to water, thinking of how the world used to be and how beautiful most of it was.
He turns around, his expression.. it's sadness and guilt.
I can't hold back my tears anymore.. I've been holding it in since my parents died, I just want to let It all out, I don't care if daryl sees.
"I hate this new world, I hate it! I hate it I hate it" I sit down and lean against the counter, tears blurring my vision.
His footsteps get close to me, soon after he's sitting next To me.
"Why did this happen..?" My voice gets crackley.
He just sits there in silence.
I look up at him and wipe my eyes, he looks back at me, frowning.
"Im glad this happened, before any of this crazy shit my father was abusive, he  beat me with every chance he had, now that there's monsters eating everyone I can finally fight back, I wish my father would have lived to see this happen, see everyone getting killed in front of him see all the pain that I went through.." He grips his bow, looking down with his hair covering his face.
Now I feel guilty.. I reminded him of his father "Im sorry"
A whimper escapes his mouth, tears falling to the floor, His hands trembling.
Oh no.. Crap I feel so bad, I didn't mean for this to happen.
My sad thoughts about everything changes to guilty thoughts, I need to help him.
I lean on his shoulder and wrap my arms around him, awkwardly trying to calm him down.
He very slightly leans on me, showing some sort of sign that it's not completely awkward.
"Daryl.." I mumble and pet his head "It's okay you're free, don't worry about people, just kill the dead and you'll be Fine.. if someone threatens us, you have a whole group to help, you're not alone"
His head leans against my shoulder, I move locks of his dark hair so I can see his face.
Funny.. I thought this would go the other way around.
"Y/N..-" A loud scream comes from outside, not letting daryl finish his sentence.
I sigh as he quickly stumbled to his feet, picking up his cross bow as he runs out the door. I stand up and grab my Katana that's in its holster, putting it around my shoulder.
"Shit! Y/N we gotta go" Daryl yells once he gets outside.
I nod, though he can't see me.
"Beth, Run!" Carl yells.
I quickly walk to the doorway and look out, Daryl shoots a couple zombies, I look at the road to see a HUGE hord of zombies coming our way, it's at least A few miles wide, a few miles long.
"So that's where the zombies were hidin" I mumble under my breath then look at daryl "Hey, we won't be able to drive what if we run out of fuel or get trapped from zombies in front of us, we have to hide!"
He looks at me, thinking for a bit then nodding "Beth, Carl get in the house
Y/N's in, Now"
Beth runs across the street then walks passed me and into the house.
Daryl helps Carl in, he nods at me, as some kinda thank you.
I Close the door and lock it.
Beth helps by pushing the couch over to the door, Carl boards up the windows while Daryl blocks the other doors.
"Basement or upstairs?" I turn and ask everyone.
"Basement" Daryl speaks up before anyone else could.
We all nod and pick up our supplies, heading towards the door that leads to The basement, I open it with my Katana out at the ready, Carl n Beth behind me and Daryl behind all of us.
I walk down the stairs and look around, It's narrow and steep, a zombie could trip and fall down.
Once I reach the bottom I quickly look around, it's a small square room with one burned out light bulb, Shelves on the walls filled with food and medicine, there's no other door, there's also a small foamy with a blanket and a metal table with knifes, under it is 3 big jugs of water.
"This family.. they must've made this room for apocalyptic things" I say and lower my Katana.
"Or earthquakes" Daryl says while walking passed me, a smirk on his lips.
I blush in embarssemnet "Or that.."
Beth giggles Daryls comment while checking out the supplies.
Carl walks back down to us "I tied the door shut and locked it" "Thanks" I look at him and smile, he smiles in return.
"What about everyone at the jail? Will they be okay" Beth asks, sitting down with her back against the wall.
Everyone goes silent.
"They'll be fine.." I mumble, putting my heavy backpack on the metal table.
"Yeah, we're at least 2 hours away from em, we took alot 'O turns, the zombies might not even reach em" Daryl sets his bow down against the wall then sits next to it.
Carl happily sighs, sitting on the dusty foamy.
I open my bag and take most of the supplies out "My as well set up camp and stay here a while"
"Yeah" Beth says with glee "We could rest 'ere and play games! Kinda like when I used to go camping"
I smile at her, nodding slightly.
"We got no choice" Daryl says, resting his head on the wall "The hord will at least As a couple days"
Me and Beth look at each while grinning, already making plans of what we're gonna do.
