Do you know one of those people that are really hard to read externally? One of those people where their body language and facial expressions remain the same and regardless of your efforts, just can not read them?

Back in the eighteenth century, people began to become increasingly harder to read. This, of course, became problematic being as no one could identify a persons real feelings - society repeatedly complained and demanded answers.

Riots began, mayhem occured, cold wars and laws penetrated the old world. People wanted answers, and fast, as to why the sudden deterioration of mood revealing had taken place.

This infuriated citizens; was it governmental secrecy? Was it personal reasonings? Who knew?

As no one from the general public knew, especially the lower and working class, scientists were forced to experiment, mechanics were forced to create new technology. The rest of the world? Well, it had gone to shit.

Nobody knew why this caused so much infuriation and upset, why people's demeanour had rapidly changed.

Through years and years of mistakes, experimentation and gene therapy, the world had finally gotten what they'd asked for thirty years ago.

New molecular structures allowing a persons eye colour to change dependant on mood.

The world was in uproar excitement. Yes, mistakes were still being made - but after all, who doesn't make mistakes?

Thirty two years later, the answer was made. This news swept international headlines, dearly exciting the world.

Andrew Johnson - first person with a changing eye colour demeanour.

After another successful attempt, this time female and naming her 'Olivia Johnson', they began to reproduce this new species.

So, here we are today.

It's currently eight minutes past twelve after midnight on the twenty second of April in the year two thousand and nine. Catherine Howlter is sat at her desk, stressing about her History exam that awaits her first thing tomorrow morning.

What's the History exam about? Well, it all happened nearly a three centuries ago, involving her ancestors that she didn't even know she was related to.

Daniel Howell and Philip Lester.

A/N: hello !! Don't worry, this is a phan fiction and no Catherine is not Dan and Phil's daughter, they were generations ago :) this also isn't cringe - Catherine is only mentioned here and right at the end, the rest is pure phan.

Hope you enjoy !!

Question: what do you think will happen in two centuries from now?
