Chapter 2:

"So, what now?" Neel finally spoke up after 5 minutes of agonizing silence. He had to admit it was a pretty good idea, to just let loose, and not have a care in the world. He always did love the feeling of independence, but he could never handle the freedom. He needed someone, he was always dependent, that was one of his flaws.

Arriah seemed to think for a while. Just then, it hit her, suddenly like a ton of bricks. "We escape." she said simply.

"Why?"Neel questioned. What was the reason to escape? We could just leave when they discharged us.

"You're an idiot."

"No."

"Yes. How do you expect to pay for the hospital bills? And do you really think they will discharge us today?" Arriah said rather smugly. She was right, she was not going to pay the bills, she might have money, but she still doesn't have a job, she is going to live on the money as long as she could. She would look for a job soon, though. And of course, she should get a job immediatly, she did have a masters degree and it was from Stanford. She had tried looking for a job before, but she struck out...of luck.

Wow, he was dumb. He thought he could be smart, but no. "How do we escape from here?"

One simple answer. "Easy."

He nodded, he knew to shut up and just follow Arriah out.

Arriah got up from her uncomfortable hospital bed and peeked her head out through the door. The coast was clear, so she grabbed Neel's hand and ran to the elevator.

Neel glanced down at their intertwined hands. He watched as she pressed the button to the lobby eagerly.

Once the elevator opened, she rushed out with Neel and hid behind a car. Just as she was about to call a cab, Neel Interupted her.

"My things!!" he yelled out.

"Sshh! And what things?" She hushed him.

"My suitcases."

"Where are they?"

"By Frog Times St." Arriah started cracking up.

"Those...were your ..suitcases!!!" she wheezed out while laughing. She was struggling to stop laughing. Was it possible to run out of air while laughing? If you could, then she was running out of air.

"What?"Neel was confused. Why was he laughing as if there was something on his face. Instinctly, his hands went up to his face. "Is there something on my face?" but she just kept laughing. What Neel didn't know was that Arriah had saw those bags just laying there, aboandoned on the sidewalk, so she took them to her apartment. Finally when she stopped laughing, which felt like forever to Neel, she said "They are at my place." Just when Neel opened his mouth, she raised her hand "Don't ask." So he didn't.

He just grumbled to himself mocking her in a high-pitched voice which Arriah swore she sounded nothing like.

After they both arrived to Hedgen Rd, they took a right, and then walked straight ahead until, they found an hotel-like building. Neel was about to head inside the building, but Arriah grabbed his hand and led him to the back part of the building which was actually called The Trench.

"Where-" he started but was cut off.

Arriah put her hand on his mouth to silence him. After a few moments, she was sure he would shut up, she removed it. She grabbed his hand and led him to a door, she took a key out of the handbag, which she remembered to take before leaving the hospital. The door opened, and it revealed stairs. They walked in and closed the door. She glanced towards her right and Neel followed her gaze, it was an elvator. She got in and oushed the button to the 10th floor. It was the tenth highest floor, duh! Not counting the roof. The hotel looked like it had 15 floors.
