Chapter 2

At the Okumura Residence

~Rin's POV~

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Rin! Happy Birthday to you!"

I scratched my head nervously because everyone that I know of is here in my dorm room, celebrating my birthday. What was most exciting about this party was that this was a surprise birthday party. And boy, was I surprised! XD

~5 hours before the party~

It was a normal saturday, with nothing to do besides doing my homework. I'll do that later. >:D

Right now I'm in the dorm room skimming through a comic book that I borrowed, more like stoled, from Mephisto. I'm still creeped out that he is my so called half-brother. A brother from another mother, my ass.

He's a clown while I'm not. And he's creepy.

While thinking about him I gave myself the shivers, guh! DX<

Having these thoughts in my head I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings and my brother Yukio, and my familiar Kuro came inside the room.

"Rin," said my brother, "I have a special assignment for you."

I quickly jumped out of my bed happy and excited, "What type of assignment?"

Yukio brought his fore finger to his face and placed it on his glasses that were sitting on his nose and pushed them up a bit, making his glasses glint mysteriously.

He chuckled at me, "A special assignment."

I got even more excited, "Do I get to excorcist a demon?"

"No."

I was confused, "No?"

"No," he stated.

"No?"

Yukio looked like he wanted to snap at me but kept calm and control, "No."

"Thennnnnnnnn, do I get to slay a demon?"

"No."

"Any demon."

"No."

"A dragon."

"NO."

"You."

"No-what?!"

"Nothing~!" X3

Yukio looked at me and sighed deeply, "Would you like to know the special assignment?"

"YES!" I yelled at him while bouncing on my feet.

Yukio chuckled, "Your assignment is.............."

I was getting impatient, "What's the assignment!"

Yukio looked at me, then to Kuro, then back to me, "Your exwire assignment is........to get Kuro his special demon food."

.......silence......

"That's the so call special assignment!" I yelled at him a little angry.

"Kuro is your familiar, so you must take care of your demon," Yukio emphasized, "Besides, to be a Paladin your familiar must be strong and not dying of hunger."

........He did have a point.

"Fine," I said while sighing, "where do I get Kuro's special food?"

"In the lower part of town. The place where lower demons hide in refuge from humans and other powerful demons," said Yukio like it was nothing.

"What!!!" I yelled in panic, "I'll be trapped in there for hours!"
