I remember when Sire took me in, I was only a baby then, I couldn't even walk yet, and even though I was an easy kill, especially since I'm human, he didn't hesitate to let me live. Even though he vowed to kill every human that fell in the Underground he let me live, and worse yet live with him. I never knew what the other monsters thought of him or if they knew of my presence but Sire always kept me hidden when company was over. I didn't really mind, they weren't there for long anyway. I knew at a young age that all this secrecy was taking a toll on him, he wasn't that young so I thought, so I dedicated myself to making life easier for him in the castle. For there were no maids or servants of the sort about, he had to take care of things by himself, so I volunteered to be his butler. He refused but I was very determined to make my stay here worth while.

It's been years now since I fell, and I loved every moment. Asgore was very kind to me despite my race and what my people did, I don't even think he truly hated humans themselves but rather what they did to his son Asriel. The poor soul. Life with Asgore was good to me, and again I loved every moment, but what happened after work today was rather. . .unexpected.

It was a usual day at the Dreemur castle, I was preparing breakfast for Sire and I, I was up too early for even the birds to chirp and sing. Humming a tune I heard heavy footsteps coming my way. I stopped curiously and peered at the door, there was without a doubt that they were Asgore's but why was he up so early? He never arose early, at least not as early as I would. He yawned before stepping into view, sounding like a tired lion, he was wearing a loose dark blue shirt and boxers, I've seen him in his pajamas before but never as far as the kitchen.

"Good morning Sire," I said with a bow, "breakfast will be ready, in a moment.

"Good morning Y/N." He smiled tiredly.

I returned to the stove so the food wouldn't burn. I had expected him to move to the table and wait for me there with his tea, like he always does, but today he just stayed at the door. Watching me.

"Sire is something wrong?" I asked.

"No, no thing's wrong. Just. . .observing is all."

Observing? What would he be observing?

I paid no mind to it and continued with breakfast while he just watched, I didn't mind the company but the staring was making my heart beat faster. Luckily it didn't take long to finish and I set the table for us, he sat in the chair opposite me and we ate. But he was still staring. I asked again what was wrong but he again denied anything wrong, so I dropped the matter. . .For now.

After breakfast I had tidied the wares and was about go on with my usual chores when he stopped me midway to the door.

"Y/N," he said, "if it won't be a bother to you I'd like to help you with your duties today."

He. . .actually wanted to help? Why?

"Um, of course Sire but why? If you don't mind me asking."

He chuckled, "I would just like to help for once, this house is far too big for one person to clean, I don't know how you do it, but I'm in a good mood today and would like to be of assistance."

He smiled wide and his eyes softened, his cheeks had the faintest shade of pink dusting them lightly, I don't think I've seen him like this before.
