"Hey babe." I look at them give each other a quick kiss on the lips. Yuck. Love is just overrated.
"And hi Francesca." She greets me with the sweetest smile.
"Oh, just please don't call me that." I look at her with annoyed face.
"Please, Alex." Dave begs me.
"Okay, okay." I raise both of my hand, giving in. "So, how's the wedding thingy going? And why you need me here?"
"Oh the wedding planning has finished, and I want you to be..." Please don't say maid of honor because I just don't wanna see my best friend that I have a crush on marrying another girl. "The photographer."
That's slightly better.
"Well, I want to accept that but, I have no team and I'm not professional." I kind of rejected it.
"But we both agreed it's gonna be you as our photographer." Well fuck, I can't.
"Can I borrow Dave first?" I ask.
"Of course." She smiles. Why is she being so nice to me? Not like those bitches who turns into the king of devils because her boyfriend has a girl as his best friend. Well, they both are best friends longer than me. Maybe that's the reason.
"Look Dave, I admit I'm a good photographer, our school always ask me to be their events photographer, my uni did that too, but not you okay. Even though you're like a brother to me and all of that but no. I don't want to disappoint her okay." I rant.
"You won't disappoint her, she likes your photos." I look at him raising my eyebrow.
"I just can't okay. I will come to your wedding but I'm not gonna be your photographer." I politely reject. I make my way to Alice.
"Hey, thank you for the offer but I need to say the truth I can't do it. I recommend you to hire a professional photographer. Thank you so much Alice." I say while smiling politely.
"Uhm okay." She looks so confused.
Making my way to the bus stop, hoping I hadn't miss the bus. Hopefully, a bus come and stop in front of me. I make my way in and took a seat on the second floor seats. It's a nice day here in London, the sun shine brightly. It's rare to have a sunny day like this here.
The bus stops near a small park with bunch of people hanging out there, feeling so happy and joyful. I get out after paying the bus ride, walk across the street and go straight to the elevator inside a building. As the elevator dinged, I walk to my flat which I share with my three other best friends I met in uni.
"Hey Lex, How's the 'date' go?" Amber asks by quoting and emphasize the word 'date'.
"Oh, it went really well, that's why I go back this early." I answer her with sarcasm.
"I told you, Lex, he's not worth it. You're still young, so don't waste your time running and fighting for Dave who won't return your love." Casey the wisest among us is actually telling the truth.
"But, he's so my type. He likes the same music as I do, he loves and care about his family..." I pointed out.
"And so millions guys out there, Lexi." Natalie comes out of her bedroom with a tub of ice cream on one hand and a spoon on the other hand.
"Hmmph." I slouched on the couch in front of the tv.
"Hey guys, have you heard that Justin Bieber is in town?" Amber asked looking at her phone.
"WHATT?!?!" Both Casey and Natalie scream out loud. I bet our neighbours can hear that.
"We should totally go to his concert." Casey stated.
"I'm not gonna go with you all... I'm just gonna stay at home and eating pizza while crying over a romantic comedy movies." I walk away to my bedroom and leave them alone with their addiction to Justin Bieber.
I took off all my clothes and change into a basketball short and muscle tee with Sleeping With Sirens written on it. I turn my iMac PC on, ready for a massive searching of scholarship. I was thinking of getting a Master degree in Parsons School of Design in New York. That means going away from this city and leaving all my friends. It can be a fresh new start and I can easily forget him.
"Hey, Lex, what you up to?" Casey closes the door slowly.
"Nothing much, just searching for scholarship." I answered with a shrug.
"A SCHOLARSHIP? ARE YOU INSANE?" She screams in shock. "I mean, you still want to go for a few more years studying?"
"Yes Casey, I need my master degree." I face her and close my laptop.
"Where?" She asks with a sad face.
"Parsons School of Design in New York." I look at her with a serious face. "And I'm not joking about all of this things, okay."
"YOU'RE GOING TO LEAVE US?!?!?" Casey, again, can't keep the volume down.
"Who's going to leave us?" Natalie and Amber asked from the doorway. Shit and hell, this is gonna be one long conversation.
"Alexandra." Well, no one ever calls me with my full name except my family.
"I'm getting my master degree, it's only four years maybe less, I'm going to go back anyway." I stated, hoping they won't giving me speeches.
"Promise?" Natalie asked.
"Of course." I smiled. Somehow we end up having a movie marathon with boxes of pizza and sodas. I end up sleeping on the couch and everyone else on the floor with their sleeping bags. And now I'm in the middle of dreaming Dave and I get married on the beach. I feel something vibrates beside me, I woke up and search for my phone. As I find it and open the message.
Dave:
Hey, I'm sorry to say this... but I just told Alice that you're bringing your boyfriend to the wedding. So she kind of already sent two invitations to your adress. I'm sorry.
Did I even say that? I don't even have a boyfriend for fuck sake. Now, who's I'm going to ask to go with me to that wedding.
