"Thank me for not uncovering your secrets, Kaia. " Wendy said while laughing unstoppably.
"Stop it, will you?"
Wendy has always been my best bud since our freshman year. We met in Biology class and surprisingly we managed to get along each other well since our first encounter, which is great! She might not have the most pleasant attitude and there were also lots of petty fights along the way, but the thing I liked about her is that, she accepted my flaws and we share the same hobbies; shopping and hanging outside to our favorite café shops.
"So you're in love with him for a year now huh?" Wendy said while gripping my arm.
"Shut it, will you? Gosh Wendy the weather's extremely fine today! Let us go for a walk." I said trying to escape her big mouth.
Good thing the trap work. We went to "Friendly Bean Café" our favorite coffee shop near the university. Since we entered the university, we never fail to visit this shop despite the busy schedule.
"French vanilla drink and Mocha swirl for me." I ordered.
"Hazelnut decaf coffee and Mocha swirl please." Wendy cheerfully ordered.
We chose our usual favorite seat, fifth seat first column beside the window. Good thing no one dares to take that position from us.
"Hey, Kaia I heard we have a new roommate." Wendy vaguely said.
"What? So I will not be able to change my bed plans every night?" I said in dismay.
"Well, they are just rumors for now, but I think it's true since Professor Andrews checked the bed and working table in our room earlier." She said while scrolling on her phone.
"Your orders are here." The crew said, smiling.
"So tell me, you like Hunter?" Wendy asked in secrecy as if someone would dare interrupt our conversation.
"Wendy!" I said furiously.
"C'mon just answer it will you?"
April 08 year 2014, I came at the coffee shop fifteen minutes before 5:00 pm patiently waiting for Wendy. We agreed to meet since we're working on a research paper to be submitted the next day when suddenly the chimes adorning the push-pull door sounded, so I turned my head back and saw a teenage lad that caught my attention.
He was tall with a muscular build. His hair was dark and lustrous and his smile was breathtaking to see. I got to see him closely since he walked and stopped for a moment near my seat. His eyes were electric blue, striking but soft.
"This place is nice." He whispered.
His voice is deep and husky then for a second he met my eyes and smiled a bit.
And at that time, I had fallen in love.
"I like him." I finally answered.
And here goes the garrulous best friend of mine. She never stopped talking about how excited she was for me since Hunter will finally share class with us. Her imaginations gone far and that made me thrilled too.
"Imagine being with that perfect lad?! Wouldn't that be wonderful? Going out together, driving in the middle of the night, being trapped with the heavy traffic but enjoying since romantic music is playing and sharing a kiss under the moonlight!" she exclaimed.
"That would be perfect! So will you help me out?"
"I will be happy to do so." She said with a smile, beaming.
We finished eating and went back straight to our university. We entered the dorms and even planned to peek in the boys' dorm to see Hunter even for a minute but failed to do so because Ms. Andrews instructed us to welcome Vera our new roommate in the school lobby.
"Can't she go on her own? Is she a little kid to not know the school grounds?" Wendy said, annoyingly.
"I think so." I replied.
"She's annoying me, seriously." Wendy said while making her way in the lobby.
"Calm down okay? Maybe she's just afraid to go alone." I replied.
An hour almost passed, Vera is still nowhere to be seen. I'm a little bit worried if she lost her way in here or what.
I'm busy reading the new magazine released just yesterday in one of the lobby's waiting area, suddenly Wendy's eyes suddenly widened.
"Kaia is that Vera?" she asked with curiosity.
The girl walking to our direction was stunningly gorgeous, like a painting of a goddess brought to life. Her hair was long, wavy and brown falling to her chest. She wore a simple dress with a red belt. She's carrying a huge luggage.
"I think so." I whispered.
She came right in front of us, Wendy and me still in a state of shock.
"Hi! I'm Vera." She said smiling.
"Oh hi I'm Kaia." I said.
"Wendy." She coldly said.
"So, did I keep you waiting for too long?" She asked with her sweet voice.
"Yes. We've been sitting here like waiting until forever comes, you know we have no choice since—"
"No, it's okay." I interrupted Wendy's big mouth.
We made our way to the dormitory, it's past 9:00 pm and my eyes are so heavy to the point that I forgot to eat dinner downstairs. I hugged my pillow tight and cocooned myself in my blanket, time for another fantasy dreaming with Hunter.
"Goodnight Kaia." I can hear Wendy's voice as I close my eyes.
xx
I reached for my alarm clock to dismiss the annoying sound; forcing me to get up and fix myself for school. The gravitational force between me and my bed is extremely high. Luckily I managed to pull myself out of bed. I folded my blanket and went straight to the bathroom inside our room.
"Kaia" Wendy greeted with a high pitched voice.
"Hey Wendy, have you not washed yet?" I asked.
"That newbie is taking so long inside the bathroom! I'm so annoyed we'll be late for class. I'm pretty sure." She said while pointing the bathroom door annoyingly.
