Blood gushed down her forehead. A waterfall of glass showered on her. A keen, jagged shard of glass clung to the delicate folds of her skin. She gasped for air. That was the last normal day of Emily's life.

A pursuit of fear paralyzed her, as she hoisted herself in front of the mirror. She slowly pivoted her head. Sparse amounts of air escaped her clinging grasp in anxiety and angst. Stunned as she was by the sight, her face was inanimate, as if she was dead.

A display of a young girl stood in front of her. As young as she was, her velvet lips told more than a million stories. The deep valleys on her skin cried for rapture. The pitted holes on her button nose chuckled in melancholy and torment. The sacks of dread and distress clung to her skin like a spider. She was looking at her reflection.

She let out a quick gasp, stunned by what her eyes told her. Emily was a statue, sculpted by her bewilder. A million wounds and scratches were plunged on her skin. The girl radiated so much misery, the mirrors turned grayish. She was flabbergasted by the amount of injuries that were plunged on her pale skin.

A large piece of shattered glass slept on the smooth ground. It was magnificent! She was awe-struck by the fierce exquisiteness and splendor that was reflected by the glass. It shone radiantly on her face; it gave out light equivalent to a hundred moons. It was like it absorbed all her grief and melancholy. It was as if an unfinished puzzle in her was now been completed.

She bent down to pick the piece. Something was odd. Her reflection still scrutinizing her. Her reflection still radiated the same copious amount of misery. But most of all, her reflection was still a statue; still standing in the exact same position as she was minutes ago. It wasn't he reflection. It can't be.

Emily lay crouched as the girl in the display stood high motionlessly. Still gawking, she couldn't fathom what the girl in the display is. She looked so alive, yet so dreadfully dead.

Then the strangest thing happened. The girl swayed her arm and held it out. Emily let out a quick gasp as a fire exploded inside of her. She was terrified, petrified, startled, baffled all at once. She couldn't apprehend what had just happened. Emily held the girl's violet gaze for a while. A gelid shadow flinched inside of her. As frightened as Emily was, she sensed a strong sense of optimism and trust. Emily clutched the girl's hand.

A tsunami of memories and stories flooded her mind. Emily felt a strong sense of secureness as if she was home. She felt as if her soul had just woken up after years of sleep. She felt alive.

The piece of glass still sat quietly beneath her. But, its charming surface blabbered on and on. Emily quickly caught a glimpse of the glass. She instantly picked it up. Unexpectedly, series of mirages started to flicker on the surface. Real life images. Emily was familiar with the mirages. A flash flood of memories hit her again. She felt herself smirk. But it didn't last long.

A stony earthquake shook her to the core. She finally realized the horror of the situation. Emily was the present. The girl is

her future. And she has to go to the past. Or else she'd plummet into a abyss of complete desolateness and lay there shattered. Till the end of time.
