It was morning and the sun was shining through the wet leaves. Ava kept her tired eyes closed and let the raindrops run down her snout. She continued laying in her comfortable bed, which was made out of warm and dry moss. She turned around and sunlight was directly shining into her purple eyes. Ava hid her face behind her paws and moaned. "Why now...", she mumbled. But right after she said that, she heard sudden and loud footsteps. Cracking of leaves and small sticks disturbed the silence in the big forest, then some following mumbling. Ava slowly crawled to the back of her cave to not be seen by the one who was passing and tried to breathe as silent as she could.
The steps got less. She heard heavy and robotic breathing. 'Who the heck is that?', she thought. Ava heard more leaves rushling, then just the soft wind howling through her cave and the trees outside of it. She dared to take a look outisde. Nothing. She went out of her cave, step after step. As soon as she got out of her cave, she heard someone shout: "Hey! You there!" This voice was strange, belonged to a female and also a bit...robotic. Ava turned around to where the voice came from. Then she saw something she wasn't expecting to see for ages. One of Dr.Elbeys' robots. It started to run towards her, Ava could hear the loud mechanics crack and moving. Without even thinking about how fast it could be, she also started to run. While jumping over rocks, fallen over trees and other things, she looked back for a few times to see if the robot was still following her. It was nearer and faster than she expected, much faster than just a regular wolf. Ave tried to run faster.
But suddenly, after she jumped over high and wet bushes, a sliff appeared on the other side and she barely had the time to stop. Ava nearly slipped and saved herself on the edge of the cliff. As fast as she could, Ava climbed up with all the strenght she had. But she was already helped my another wolf, who was helping her up with a normal paw. "Thanks...", she sighted and looked up. It was the robot. "Shhh, please stay silent and don't plan to run away, I don't want to hurt you. I promise. You're actually the first real wolf I saw after ages.", it said. Ava was to startled to answer or even try to run away again. It was pointless to run anyway. Many thoughts were also going through her mind. "I don't trust you", she finally said with a harsh and strict voice.
"You really have to, please! I'm not one of these brainless piles of shit Dr. Elbeys manages to command and follow his rules. I won't kill you!"
"Hmpf... I'm still not trusting you. What is this is just a trick?"
"It's not a trick! Please... I just need some help..."
"Ugh, fine. But I can't help anyone I don't know the name of."
"Oh, right! What was my name again...? Dr.Elbeys used to call me 96. He mentioned my real name once. Right! It was Kamala! How about you? What's your name?"
"My name is Ava. Oh well, never really spoke with a robot before... How should I start? Are you the lost project of Dr.Elbeys?"
"Lost? He really misses me? That bastard... He tried to kill me again!"
"I... I just heard all of the rumors going around here. I don't really believe them to be honest."
Kamala gave her a confused look though her cold eyes. They seemed cold and expressionless. "Let's just not talk about it,"she said "Let's go to a comfortable place where we can talk in piece! How about your cave? It seemed pretty comfy!" Ava thought about it for a moment, went through the possible actions Kamala could make. "Fine, let's go." Kamala grinned happily and hopped up and down. "Let's go!", she shouted and then started to run.

"Wow, it really looks comfortable in here! And all this moss, haha!", Kamala said and already snuggled into the soft moss. Both had arrived in Ava's cave after the short sprint. Ava still had to take some breaths. Kamala looked over to her, covered with moss on her face. "You tired?", she asked. "Yeah... Please- Don't run so fast next time. You have to remember that you're partly machine and much faster than a normal wolf like me..."
"Oh? Sorry! Promise it won't happen again!"
"Thanks."
Kamala then looked down to Ava's legs and spotted some bloody wounds, some were covered with grass and leaves. "Oh, you're wounded!" Ava spotted them too and just watched them. "No big problem, will heal some time anyway."
"Let me do this, it works much quickier!"
"Uh-"
"Dr. Elbeys specialized me on healing wounds and such! He built in a kind of reproducing healing juice into my tongue."
Ava grumbled. "Okay, go ahead and just do it. I got nothing else to lose anyway." Kamala grinned and opened her mouth, which was partly covered in cold metal. She licked over the wounds and seconds after, it healed. "Incredible...",Ava mumbled.
