Prologue

Helga Hufflepuff

Helga stood in the doorway, peeking in timidly. Her parents were fighting again.

"Look, if we don't get rid of her, they'll come looking for us."

"But she's our daughter. We can't just leave her alone outside! She's only 12."

"Well, since you can't bear to leave her, why don't you go with her. I never wanted this child anyway."

"Fine. Since you initiated that idea, I shall leave with her. Don't bother looking for us."

Upon hearing that, her father stormed into the room and slammed the door. Her mother opened Helga's bedroom door softly. Helga sat on the edge of her bed, sobbing uncontrollably. Her mother put an arm around her, comforting her.

"Why does Dad hate me?" Helga asked through tears.

"Because you are a witch. People like your Dad who have no magical powers dislike people with magical powers. They are out for you. They want to kill you."

Godric Gryffindor

"Son, we must leave."

"Dad. No one has found us out yet."

"One day they will, son. It's better if we leave now than later."

"But..."

"No buts. Leaving means leaving. They're coming; I can sense it. They're coming for us."

Sighing, Godric packed up his stuff and headed towards the stable. Someday, I will make sure that wizards and witches like me are safe from danger. Someday.

Rowena Ravenclaw

Rowena looked left and right. There was no one patrolling there. With her bag slung over her shoulder, Rowena crept silently towards the back castle gates. It lead straight into the forest. Punching in the numbers of the code into the panel, there was a 'click' sound and the gates opened. Silently. She walked through the gates and the gates began to close. There was no returning now. Before going, she turned and looked at the castle. It was her childhood home. Her heart was filled with hatred when she thought about her father, King Arthur, who treated her like a piece of worthless trash. With one last glance at the castle tower, her favourite hideaway, she turned and ran into the forest, thinking that she would never go back there ever again.

Salazar Slytherin

Salazar lowered his head, his hood shadowing his face as he walked into the cottage and ordered a drink. The lady at the counter slid the cup towards him; he missed it and it fell off the counter. Subconciously, he waved his wand and it flew back onto the counter. All eyes were on him. He mentally cursed himself. The lady at the counter screamed, "Wizard!" People began crowding in on him. He looked for ways to escape. Spotting a small gap, he squeezed through it and ran towards the doorway, narrowing missing people's outstretched hands. He ran and ran until he was far away from the small cottage. Rage surged through him. I will kill these people. I will show them that wizards and witches are not to be messed with.
