Tonight, Dave slept peacefully and quietly, comfortable in his sheets and feeling warm and cozy. It was all awfully calm.
Until he started to hear rocks hitting his bay window.
Looking up at the ceiling, he listens if what he hears is real or not. But after a few more pebbles hitting hisglass he grudgingly gets up, scratching his neck and pushing himself awake. He approaches his window with caution, opening his curtains.
"Dave?" she whispers lowly.
"Arabella?" His eyes suddenly widen in surprise, before he opens his window and looks down on her.
"Hey..."
Dave finds himself biting his lip, trying to stop the silly grin starting to plaster on his face. "Isn't this supposed to be the other way around? Me throwing rocks on your window and all?"
"I don't know, you seem more like a Juliet to me." She shrugs.
"I'm the manliest Romeo there is!" If wasn't true at all, but he just wanted to see how she would react.
"Oh?" She arches her eyebrow, smirking. And with that, Dave's heart starts to do some somersaults and it was crazy. His mind kept screaming that she was sexy, she was so sexy and he wanted it to stop, along with the slightly hardening thing underneath his pants.
Calm down, Dave. He tells himself.
"Hello? Earth to Romeo?" Arabella interrupts, her head tilted to the side.
"Yeah?"
"You gonna come down here or what?"
"Oh. Right."
He closes his window and suddenly has a confused look on his face. He kept asking himself what's going on and is this really happening and how did she even get inside his backyard? But nevertheless he quickly dresses up into something more decent before shuffling downstairs quietly to avoid waking up his family.
Once he sees her sitting on the grass, he sits down beside her. "What's up?"
"Nothing, just wanted to spend time with you, that's all."
He can't believe she just said that.
"Then I'm here," Dave chokes out, not knowing what else to say. When it comes to Arabella, he always ends up either saying something stupid or just being plain speechless. It was like his whole being was taking a trip to La La Land whenever he's with her.
She suddenly stands up, offering him her hand.
"Let's go on an adventure together."
At first he does nothing, processing what she just said in his brain and looking at her outstretched hand, but when it finally dawned into him, he clears his throat and bites his tongue, hoping it'll remove the warm feeling on his chest.
He looks at her expectantly, "Where would we go?"
"To the stars, Jack. Take me to the stars." She says dramatically before laughing. "I don't think you get adventures, Dave. We go out and drive around and set no destinations, we'll just see where we'll eventually end up in."
"I've never done that before," he admits.
"Then I'll make sure your first time will be the best." She promises, pulling his hand and making him stand up. As their hands link, he observes how soft her hand is, and he felt like didn't want to let go. But she held on, pulling at his hand and dragging the both of them to his car. It was a surprising sight, Arabella dragging him and holding his hand.
He'd let her take him anywhere.
