y revealed compassion. But obviously not for Caleb. I already knew that my heart didn't ache for him as it did for Dominic. It just didn't feel right being with Caleb. But it felt so right being with Dominic, even if he does have a girlfriend. But I'm not a boyfriend stealer. I don't do that type of thing, and I never will.

I slipped into my slick black and red knee-high dress and put on a pair of red flats. I was about to go out with Caleb again. It's our third date. And I think he's planning to kiss me. For some reason, my heart dropped to my stomach when I thought about it. But it'll be fine because I'm over Dominic.

My phone vibrated on the bathroom counter. I unlocked my phone and saw that Caleb texted me.

Caleb: Hey babe, mind if some friends accompany us on our date?

Alexis: Sure...I'm just going to end up falling. I don't necessarily know how to skate.

Caleb: You'll be fine cutie. Ill teach you ;)

I smiled softly, and placed my phone face down on the counter. Some friends. I guess that wouldn't be that bad. I mean, did I really want to be alone with Caleb? He's a great guy. But I don't like him like that. At least that was before Him...

After pep talking myself into trying to have a great time with Caleb, I walked down the steps and walked toward the front door of my house when my dad stopped me.

"You've been going out with this guy a lot recently. Are you two...getting serious?" He gave me an anxious look.

"Uh...maybe? I don't know. I mean, Caleb is a great guy and all. But I'm pretty sure we aren't going to go that far."

"Hm...okay." My dad walked toward the kitchen, opened the fridge door, and searched for some leftovers.

I rolled my eyes and walked out the front door. Caleb was waiting in his silver sports car and smiled as I walked up to the passenger side.

"Hey, cutie. You look amazing." He slowly eyed my body.

"Thanks. I tried my best." I bopped his nose and slipped into the passenger seat.

"You don't mind that friends are joining us, do you?" He smiled nervously, gripping the wheel.

"Not at all. It'll be fun no matter who's there." I pecked his cheek and slipped on my seatbelt.

He smiled wide, turned on the engine of his sports car and drove off. I glanced out the window and stared at the trees that past by. We arrived at the roller skating ring. It was an old-fashioned style building that looked like it was an office building, but inside laid a wide skating ring. I slipped out of the car and walked toward the building. Caleb slipped his arm around my waist and walked us in.

I looked around as Caleb paid for us to skate, and grabbed our size skates. I saw dozens of couples holding hands, little kids running around and showing off, and elderly couples on their anniversaries. Aw, how sweet?

Caleb came over and handed me a pair of skates. I slipped off my flats and slipped on the skates. Caleb put his on and almost fell on his face. I laughed and helped him keep balance.

"So who are these friends that are joining us?"

"There are right around here somewhere-" He looked around the room.

Dominic and his girlfriend started walking our way.

"Hey, Caleb! We've been here this whole time. Where were you?" Dominic gave Caleb a quick hug and smiled. I looked away, trying to not meet his eyes.

"Sorry, I was picking up my girl" Caleb smiled, and pulled me close to his body. I smiled awkwardly and pulled away.

"I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a minute" I walked off toward the girls' bathroom. What is he doing here? I can't see him...not after what he said last time I saw him. I reached the bathroom and stopped right in front of the sink.

"Hey...you know you didn't have to storm off like that?" I turned around, and a tall red-haired girl smiled softly. "I'm Amber Rose, I'm Caleb's-"

"I know who you are. Everyone practically loves you." I stared back at the mirror that hung right in front of the sink.

"Not everyone. You don't seem to be very fond of me..."

"That's because..." I bit my lip. "Nothing. It's nothing." I stormed out of the bathroom, Amber followed.

Caleb and Dominic ordered pizza and coke; they were eating at a nearby table. I walked over to Caleb and sat beside him. Amber sat beside Dominic and stared at him like he was a God. I grabbed a cup, poured some coke from the pitcher, and sipped carefully at it, avoiding the direction of the two.

Dominic glanced over at me, and quickly looked away as if he didn't look at me at all. I scrunched my eyebrows and stood up from the table. Caleb looked up at me, and dropped his slice of pizza out of his hand.

"Where are you going? You didn't even grab a slice of pizza. It's your favorite." He gave me the puppy eyes, and I looked at the ground.

"I'm not hungry right now. I just want to skate for a bit" I rubbed my arm slowly and walked off to the skating ring. Caleb shoulders sunk and he went back to eating and talking to Dominic.

I stepped onto the ring and fell on my knees. Ow. Okay, I can do this. I stood back up and slowly pushed myself forward. I turned slightly, and ran into a side wall.

"Okay, that hurt a lot" I fell down and my head hit the ground. Dominic stood over me and smiled.

"You need help?" He reached his hand down.

"No." I tried to stand back up, but fell back down. "I'm perfectly fine without your help." I stood up, and brushed off debris off my dress.

"Sure...Hey, do you think we could talk...?" He rubbed the back of his head. "Just for a moment, it's really important."

I crossed my arms. "Why should I talk to you?" I raised my eyebrow, and glared at him.

"You're right. But...I just need to say that I was just joking about how I felt. I didn't mean to come out that way. I like you...as a friend. And that's it." He skated away, and I stared at him, flabbergasted.

Dominic skated with Amber while holding her hand, and laughing. I started to tear up, and skated out of the ring. Caleb walked up to me, and I slid out of the skates, slipped my flats on, and walked out of the building. I started to walk home. Caleb yelled my name, and told me to come back. I ignored him. I didn't want to see, not anymore.

I can't believe he played me like that. I can't believe he never had feelings for me.

It started to pour down hard, and I shivered.

"Great, this is exactly what I needed. Thanks, God." I sighed and kept walking. Footsteps were behind me and getting louder. I looked back and saw Dominic running toward me. His blue cotton sweater and his black jeans were soaked. I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want?"

"I want to tell you something." He breathed heavily, and panted, gripping his knees.

"And what exactly is that...?" I crossed my arms.

He walked slowly toward me, placed his hand on my waist. He looked deep into my eyes, and I was about to push him away when he pressed his plump pink lips against mine. Our lips moved in sync and my arms wrapped around his neck. His arms automatically wrapped around my waist, and he pulled my body against his.

After a minute of realizing what was happening, I pulled away, and wiped my mouth.

"Why did you do that? I thought you didn't have feelings for me." I clenched my fists. "How could you say you are in love with me, and then say you aren't? And then kiss me!" I shouted. His gaze lowered, and I felt bad.

No. You can't let him have that authority over you.

"I'm sorry. But I have to go." I walked home, drenched in water. I reached my house and opened the front door, closed it, and sank to the ground, crying. My phone buzzed in my pocket, I reached for it and saw that it was a text from Dominic.

Dominic: I'm not giving up on you. I know you felt that electricity between us. I felt it, and I'm not going to let that go. Never. You're the one. Amber means nothing to me...not like how you mean to me.

I turned off my phone, walked to my bedroom, and sobbed until I fell asleep.
