I meet Vienna outside her house and we walk to school together. I wasn't surprised at the state Vienna's house was in, the lawn was freshly trimmed and the house itself was a two story house made out of polished marble. She lived in the lap of luxury whereas me on the other hand, well...
Anyway, me and Vienna walked to school and as soon as we stepped through the front door, we were faced with the a very large noise level caused by all the obnoxious kids in our school. I'm used to it after going to high school for a few years now but ugh, it bugs me so much. Why can't people just keep their thoughts to themselves instead of shouting them down the corridors! Hmm?! This is one simple things I don't understand in life...
We make a beeline for our lockers and stop quickly retrieve everything we need for our first few periods. Once we are finished, I scan the locker corridor for any sign of Sophie or Katrina. I immediately spot them both talking to two very attractive boys.
I grab Vienna's hand and we head in their direction. We stop and position ourself on either side of Katrina and Sophie. They stop talking and quickly glare at us before they are pulled into reality by the loud sound of footsteps. The two boys who they were just taking to them just straight off left the scene. Idiots.
"Ugh...you guys scared them away! We were trying to get Katrina a date for prom!", Sophie exclaims. I turn to Vienna with a shocked look on my face, "Wait you didn't tell me prom was coming up!" An immediate look of guilt washes over her face, "Omg! I'm so sorry Daisy! We need to find you a date!"
A look of shock is plastered over my face, "A-a-a Date..." I exclaim, "I'm- I'm perfectly fine to go by myself, I don't need a date." I say with a forced smile.
At this point all three of the girls are staring at me. "Of course you need a date!" Sophie states with excitement, "Come on Daisy" She says with an annoyed tone, " It won't be hard, I assure you, with your looks, you will have date by the end of the day!"
With a sigh I reluctantly give in, "Fine, fine, do your magic, go be a magician and find me a date." With a small cheer from all the girls, we head in our separate directions to class.
As I walk into class, I take a seat next to my, favourite person, note the sarcasm. Michael turns his head to give me a glare, diverting his gaze then back to the front of the classroom. I'm not even sure why he's acting so glum towards me, all I did was introduce myself, I'm the one who should be rude to him. Wait a second, let's try doing that and see how it plays out. A sneaky grin fills my face as thoughts of subtle revenge fill me head. If Michael is going to be mean to me, well two can play at that game, hehehe...
Anyway, our history period lingers on for, let's say five years. As the bell goes, our teacher announces that we have a pair assignment coming up and it would be a good move to start it by the weekend. As it's Friday, she would recommend choosing a partner today. I scan the classroom for a possible partner, both Vienna and Sophie are in the other history class and the only other person I can partner with that hasn't already been snapped up by the other greedy students is Michael.
That is definitely not happening. End of story. I give up, I may as well just go and ask the teacher for an immediate fail.
I am interrupted from my thoughts of failure by an annoying voice, non other than Michael's. Why has he all of a sudden become such a pain in the neck?
I turn around to face him as he mutters my name. I look at him with a questioning glare and snap back at him, "What?!" "Ooooh, someone is a little feisty today", he says in response.
Okay, let me get this right, the guy, the fella, the disgrace to the human species that is standing before me just called me feisty. The boy who wouldn't lift a finger to help me if I was dying, the boy who can't even be bothered to acknowledge my presence. Excuse me if I'm being a tad bit harsh, but after how he treated me yesterday, I'm showing no mercy.
Ughhhhh, why do I have to be in this position...He is the my last hope on actually getting a decent mark as we are the only two who don't have a partner. With a sigh I respond to his nasty comment, "Okay, Michael, I'm getting right to the point. We are the last two left so we have to be partners. Is that good with you, huh? You didn't even have the guts to ask." I finish with a small chuckle. He looks at me with a shy glance and rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, thanks, we'll talk tomorrow...Bye."
Wait, what the hell just happened, why did he go shy all of a sudden...did I cause him to act that way? Hah! He's scared of me...We gave each other a small wave and headed to our next classes, we didn't have any other periods together again for the rest of the day. Thank Lordy lord.
I walked home with Vienna and as soon as I entered my room, I flopped down onto my bed, ready for a nap. Before I had a chance to doze off, the sound of my phones ringtone vibrated around the room. I sit up with a sigh, I can never get a break, can I? I reach for my phone and hesitate to answer when I see that it's and unknown number. Giving in to the temptation, I answer it.
"Hello?" I ask.
The response from the other side is almost immediate, "Hi, Katrina gave me your number" Wait, hold up a minuet, let me backtrack, Katrina have some random my number! She or whoever is on the other side if the line better have good reason for this..." I was hoping we could work on our project, it's Michael by the way."
"Oh hi, it's Vienna." Is my simple response...oh wait, he got my number, he knows who I am you idiot! Oh God.
I hear a laugh from the other side, "I think I would know who you are, I mean, I called u in the first place." Another chuckle erupts from Michael's mouth as he says this. I'm never going to hear the end of this am I?
I decide to push past the subject and address the elephant in the room. "Hey, Michael, why are you so moody? First you were really horrible to me, the you were shy and now your all upbeat, like, what gives?"
"Ugh, I don't know." He says in a soft voice. I start to laugh, throwing my head back, "There we go again! Now your all shy." I loudly exclaim.
I stand up and make my way to the kitchen. I feel like chocolate. Hearing some shuffling on the other side of the phone I start to wonder where Michael went..."Helllooooo?"...my voice echoes through the speaker.
I hear a grumpy almost, hurt reply, " Stop, your getting off topic!" Where we ever on topic in the first place? "I called you to talk about our history assignment and that only." His coarse reply states.
Grabbing a chocolate bar from the top shelf, I close my eyes and listen to Michael ramble on about his ideas for the assignment. I mumble a few, "yeses" and, "mhh's" as he progresses. Finally he announces that he has to leave, thank god. We say our goodbyes and I go back upstairs and nap. My life pattern deserves to be applauded, hah!
Thanks for reading this small chapter, I will probably update it and add more to it, but for now here is my update :)
