Chapter fifteen

six months later // last chapter and I am really sorry. xx

I been trying to convince myself that Riley wasn't real. But lately, she has been in my dreams, "again."  I'm trying to forget everything, it felt so real but it was just my coma dream.

I gulped down the lump in my throat, two days after my mother told me Riley wasn't real, I tried to ignore my feelings. And I still chose to ignore it.

You. Me. Pluto.

she was going to be a lawyer, and she was positive. She had to be real. I sighed, still starring at the ceiling when I remember, the photograph of us, we took pictures.

I quickly got up from my bed and searched for the pictures. I went on my phone, my dresser, my nightstand. It's not there, does that mean it was really up in my head? 

I went back on my bed and looked around.... strawberry field, maybe she's there. I got up and dressed myself. I am going to the strawberry field. 

I went downstairs, as I opened the front door, she was about to knock.

She smiled sightly. "Maya??... What are you doing here?" I asked. She shrugged. "I see you're about to go somewhere." she told me.

I scratched the back of my neck. "Well, technically, yes." I am so confused, this was Riley's best friend and if she didn't exist then why does Maya exist?

"May I take you out, as in friends and have a little talk?" she asked me.

I looked at her, and the memories came back. Of her and Riley,  Maya was nice but she have been neglecting Riley's feelings. I sighed and nodded. "Sure." 

We were outside and  I was about to go in my vehicle when she stopped me. "I have a car, and I would like to take you to a cafe." she is being weird right now.

"Oh, sure, sorry. I just assumed you walked here, and by the way, how did you know where I live?" she shrugged. "I searched you up."

"So, basically you stalked me?"

"whatever, let's just go."

We were at a cafe called Topanga's and it sounds so familiar. It was actually giving me a headache, because I am trying to remember where I heard this from.

"Wait here, I'll go order drinks for us." she told me and I only nodded. I am perplexed, why is this so weird and so familiar?

ten minutes later, she came back with our drinks. "I don't know what you wanted but here's a caramel iced coffee." she said. "I forgot to ask you what you wanted, so I hope you like it, but I mean i'm sure you'll like it."

She buckled her seat belt, and drove.

"So, the reason why I'm taking you out and wanting to talk to you is...." she paused to glance at me. Then her eyes were on the road. "Is... Is because you need to know the truth." she said. I glanced at her and she had tears in her eyes.
