I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. It was 6:45. I got up, took a shower and got dressed. I decided I would curl my hair again today, so I blow-dried my hair, and curled the ends. I walked down stairs to eat some breakfast when I heard noises already in the kitchen. James must be up already. Once I entered the doorway to the kitchen, I stopped dead in my tracks. He wasn't alone. Two of his good friends were here. Not just any two. The two that were with him in the hallway the other day when i face planted. All three of them turned around, and their jaws dropped when their eyes landed on me.

"James? Is that... Shadow Girl?" one of his friends asked slowly. "Um... yeah" "Than what is she doing in your house?" the other one asked. "Well-" "I live here" I said proudly before James could make up some sort of story. "Dude! Why didn't you tell us?" "Because Aiden. I didn't want anybody to know I live with 'shadow girl'" "Who cares! And since you guys live together, you should be nice. Start by not calling her shadow girl would be great!"

"Thanks Aiden!!" I said cheerfully. "Think of us as bro's! And James... we can keep your little..." He glanced at me than back at James. "secret" "Thanks Dylan." We all remained silent. "How about some breakfast?" I asked breaking the silence. "Sounds great!" They all said together. We all sat at the table and ate some eggs and bacon. "So, what's its like?" Dylan asked looking my way. Confused, I asked "What's what like?" "Being an outcast". "Um..." "Dude!" Aiden smacked him on the back of his head. "What? Did I say something?" No, Dylan. You didn't.

We all just shook our heads. "Alright, let's get going. We have school you know." Dylan said to me. "I know. I go." "I never see you, I wouldn't know." "Okay, leave her alone." "Thanks James" I said as I started packing my bag. He shrugged "I figured, if you're going to live here for a while, I should act some what like a brother." Why do I have a feeling that plan is not going to be completed. I headed outside to my car, and was about to unlock it when James offered me a ride. I shrugged and climbed into the back seat next to Aiden.

The boys were talking about football practice when the car suddenly stopped. "Get out." James looked at me through thr rearview mirror. "What?" I asked confused. "I said, get out". At this point, everyone looked confused. Aiden was the first to speak. "Why? There's still like, a block till we reach the school..." "Just because I said I would act some what like a brother, doesn't mean I don't care if people see you. I have a rep to keep, and so do you... Shadow Girl. Who would want to rob you from that title? Now you heard me, get out of this fucking car!" Grabbing my backpack, I hopped out of the car. Slowly walking in the freezing cold towards school, I got a text from a number I didn't recognize. 'Sorry about that. He can be a jerk sometimes. -Aiden'

By the time I reached school, I was freezing! Then again, it was my fault for thinking James would actually drive me to school. I headed towards science alone since Cloe called me this morning saying she wasnt coming today, that she was sick. I sat down in my usual seat in the back. Right when I looked up, I saw Aiden walk in the room. "Hey!" he said walking towards me. I didn't know you were in my class!" "No body knows I'm in their class." "Well, whatever." He sat down in the empty seat beside me, placing his books on the desk. He started talking to me about something, but I completely zoned out thinking of the events from earlier. "Emily?" The voice startled me. "Y-you actually know my real name?" "Yeah" scratching the back of his head he continued. "I've known you for a while, but then I became popular, and you know. I didn't wanna ruin my reputation. Sorry." Wow. "Friends?" he asked looking at me. "Friends." And with that, the bell rang and we got up and left.
