Kendall.

-7 months later-
" Look, Cammie..." I breathed, not finishing my sentence. We'd been driving for hours now, it was started to get tiring.
Cam had a pained look on her face, though she kept quiet enough about it.
I pushed against the drivers seat, leaning back as much as I could, as I extended my arms out.
" Are you okay?" I asked, breaking the silence and lack of words between us. She seemed to hesitate.
" Yes." She answered quickly. Classic Cameron. Pretend like everything is okay, not thinking I realized years ago how she would speak when she was like this.
" Come on." I sighed, dragging out my words. " I know you better than 'Yes'." I said, raising my brow at my sister. Right from when I could first remember her, she'd always been stubborn and now she was showing it in full potential.
Again silence.
I got that she was secretive, okay, but I was only looking out for her well-being. I decided to leave my obvious nagging at her for a moment, continuing to drive down the long, dimly lit high way. My baby picked up speed, purring softly, 'Bad company' playing quietly in the background since I turned the volume down.
The sun had left our sight more than an hour ago. Now, the only resource of light was from the Impala's head lights, beaming brightly.
I opened my mouth to let out my thoughts for the next hunt, what excitement I had boiling inside of me, but her face had spoken the words she didn't. 'Don't bother'. My mouth snapped shut, processing my thoughts before I actually spoke.
I sighed.
" How about a vacation?" I finally asked. I looked out the window next to me at the passing tree's and bushes, the white line at the side of the road waving at the poorly painted state.
I couldn't see her face but I knew she'd heard me, by the fidgeting going on next to me. She cleared her throat minutes later.
" What sort..of vacation." She replied my question with another.
I shrugged, leaving that decision up to herself. Anything I said would be argued with and right now, I didn't want that. I just wanted Cam to be happy for a while. We'd have to go back to the family business, of course but I guess a break would do some good. Hopefully.
Cameron paused. " California?" She answered. I nodded my head.
" California." I agreed.

I glanced over at Cammie, who was fast asleep by now, I'd been driving for 10 hours straight.
I passed highway sign after highway sign until in bold white letters, ' California' was above us. I nudged Cam, pulling off down the exit.
" Where we staying?" I asked, while she rubbed her eyes, waking up and yawning.
" I don't care."
" Motel it is then." I joked, but Cam wasn't as amused by me, more annoyed.
" Fine...fine. We'll find somewhere with a bit more class. I mean we can afford it, right?" I said answering myself in my head. Of course we could.
It was mid-day and the sun was as hot as it could get, the windows being closed wasn't helping. Cammie was fanning herself with her hand, as I spotted a tall cream walled and glass building. It looked like something Cam would like. Myself, I didn't mind motels and down-run places.
