The Meeting

We finally got to the North Dakota Pack and boy that was a long drive! Driving from Alabama to North Dakota, lets just say we had to rotate driving if we weren't going to stop to sleep but when we stopped to eat it felt like we were buying everything on the menu. I was driving again and all I saw was fields and fields. I wonder what it felt like to run through that? We pulled up to a very large house with a few smaller houses around it. We could definitely smell other wolves from where we were standing. "This doesn't look like a normal pack house" Jake said warily "I know Jake but maybe this is how they do things. Give it a chance" We heard the door open and there was a small woman standing in the doorway. "You must be from the Alabama Pack" she said. "Yes ma'am we are." Charlie replied. "Yes, the alpha has been expecting you, follow me" We all followed her into the house and that's when I smelt it. The most amazing smell in the whole world. My mate. I looked everywhere but I couldn't see him. We walked towards the Alpha's office and it started getting stronger. No, my mate can not be an alpha! He just can't be! The lady knocked on the door and someone from the inside opened it and that's when I saw him. The man that was my mate. "Who is it?" I heard someone say from inside the room. "The Alabama Pack sir" "Well let them in" the door opened wider and there was an older man sitting at the desk and two men standing behind him. The second man is my mate, I knew it from the look in his eyes and the beat in my heart. "I'm Alpha Johnson, please have a seat and welcome to my home" the older man said standing up and putting out his hand for me to shake. I took his hand, "I am Annabeth Montgomery" "Alpha Montgomery's daughter?" "Yes sir" "He said he was sending his trainer and his best fighters to help us" "Yes sir, I'm the trainer and they are our best fighters" I explained. He smiled a little like he thought this was some sort of joke. "well then, Mary will show you to your rooms and then we'll have dinner and I will introduce you to the rest of the pack." "Yes sir" We walked behind Mary who was showing us our rooms. "Alright guys, go clean up and then meet in my room. I wanna go over some things" They all left to their rooms and Emily went with me to ours. "So what was that?" "What do you mean?" "With that guy that was in the office. He's your mate isn't he?" "Yes" "Oh yay! That's so exciting! Now you have to find out who he is" "Ya, hopefully tonight at dinner" We put our suitcases on the floor and landed on the bed. I'm so tired! "Okay I'm going to take my shower." "Okay" I walked into the bathroom and got into the shower, it felt so nice to just stand there with hot water pouring on me. I got out of the shower, put my towel around me, and walked out into the room. "That felt so good." "My turn." She walked in the bathroom while I walked over to my suitcases and looked for some clothes. I took out my clothes to get dressed. I put on my dark wash shorts, a white tank top, a hot pink shirt, and hot pink Nikes. I decided to let my hair air dry so it would get curly but I put defrizer in so it wouldn't poof. I put on some eye liner and closed my suitcase. "Hey Em! I'm going to go look around this place okay? I'll be right back!" I yelled. I heard her yell okay and I walked out of the room. After looking around the pack house I decided to head back to my room and hope my friends listened to me. When I got back to the room I found that they did listen and were all waiting on me. "Why didn't you guys mind link me?" "We thought you were busy" "Okay well let's get down to business." We all sat around the bed and came up with a game plan. When we were finally done there was a knock on the door, I went to open it and there stood Mary. "Alpha Johnson would like you to know that dinner is ready and you can join us at any time." "Thank you Mary" I said politely with a smile. She closed the door and left me to my pack. I turned around to my friends getting up from their seats. We all left my room and headed down the hall toward the dining room when Jake came strolling up next to me. "What's going on in that head little sister?" "I was just thinking..." "Not always a good idea when it comes to you" he replied jokingly. "Ha ha very funny!" "What were you thinking about?" "I was just thinking my mate is somewhere in this house and what if he never shows himself while we're here because he's intimidated by me?" "Then he is a coward. You are a beautiful, strong woman and you're one hell of a fighter. Any man would be lucky to have you" "Thanks big brother" "Anything else on your mind?" "I was just thinking, if my mate is here, yours could be too" "Yeah I don't know about that Anna. I don't think I'll ever find her" "Why not? Any woman would be lucky to have you" "I just don't think I'm ready to become alpha and honestly I don't think I want it" "What? Why not?" "Because you should be alpha and I'm going to tell dad that I think that" "really? why do you think I should be alpha?" "Because Anna you are strong, you definitely have a lot of power inside of you and everyone listens and respects you." "Awe Jake" I hugged him and everyone stopped and just watched us in one of our rare brother/sister moments. Jake left after our mom was killed and when he came back I hated him. I didn't speak to him and when he walked into a room I walked out. After a lot of therapy and bonding sessions we are finally back to the way things used to be. When we got to the dining room the guys sat down and Emily and I went to the kitchen to see if Mary needed any help. We walked out to the dining room with the food and everyone stopped what they were doing. "Girls, what are you doing?" "We're just helping Mary with dinner" "Why in heavens would you do that?" "Because she needed help" "Do you normally do this in your pack?" "Do we normally do what?" "Help the help?" "We don't have help" everyone around the table looked appalled when the Alpha's son spoke up, "then who cooks for you?" "We usually all cook together but sometimes my father will cook for us." "The alpha cooks?" "Yes. He loves cooking for his family." "Oh so he only cooks for you two?" Jake and I looked at each other confused, "Us two?" "Yes, his children, his family." "No, we have two other siblings and my father considers the whole pack his family. Everyone lives and spends time in the pack house." "The whole pack lives in the pack house?" "only the ones who want to otherwise we build houses on our territory for them" "wow that's kinda cool" we turned toward the voice and there he was, my mate. Alpha Johnson stood up with pride, "I would like to introduce you to my son." Alpha Johnson walked over to the man that was standing in the doorway and put his arm around him. "This is Liam. He is our best fighter." He sat down at the table with us and we got to know everyone a little bit better.
