Chapter One

"Annabeth!" "I'm up!" I walked out of my bedroom and passed Elizabeth going down the stairs into the kitchen when my dad mind linked me. *Anna can you come to my office?* I walked into the office and dad was at his desk typing away at his computer. "At the end of the week you have to travel to the North Dakota Pack" "What for?" "Rogues have been threatening their boarders and they asked for our help." "Great" I rolled my eyes, left his office and went back to the kitchen, when i walked in everything went quiet. "What?" I asked. "Nothing" Charlie replied. "So now that you know we are leaving, what are we gonna do?" Jake asked. "Well right now I am going to sit here and enjoy my breakfast" I walked into the family room were the twins and some of the pack were. "Charlie, Alexander, Mason, Emily, Jake, I need you to be ready in 20 minutes. We're going to the arena." The arena is a place where our pack can go to train for battles. "Yes ma'am" they replied and left what they were doing to go get ready. "Anna?" I looked down and there was Grace at my leg looking up at me. "What is it sweetie?" I asked going down to her level. "Why are you leaving?" "We are going to help another pack" "When are you coming back?" "We will be back in a few days so you have be on your best behavior." "Okay" Grace said and gave me a big hug. "After we get back from the arena we'll go for a run okay?" "Yay!" I put Grace down and her and Logan went running outside. "I'm leaving in 2 seconds, if you guys aren't down here I'm going alone!" I yelled up the stairs. We drove to the arena which was only a few miles away and went inside, into my office. We eventually came up with a dozen different plans and hopefully they work. We drove home and as soon as I got through the door Grace jumped up into my arms. "Can we go for a run now?" she asked. "Sure can sweetie" I replied. She ran to the door and looked at me expectantly. "Hurry Anna" She said impatiently. "I'm coming, calm down" "Hurry" I walked to the door and opened it for her. "Okay where do you want to go?" I asked. "To the west side" she replied. I changed into my wolf, I'm a snow white color with a black patch over my right eye. Everyone says I am the prettiest wolf they have ever seen besides my mother. My mother was pure white and my father is all black. My brother Jake is black with a white spot over his left eye. And we are pretty interested in seeing what the twins will look like. Once Grace was on my back I took off. I heard her yelling for me to go faster and every time I would kick up my speed she would giggle louder. We got home and she ran inside and I slowly walked in behind her. I really did love being in wolf form, I didn't change or go running much after mom died but it feels so good to. I got into the house and walked into the bathroom and shut the door with a kick of my back leg and changed back into my clothes. There was a soft knock on the door and there was Logan standing there. "Anna, Can you come tuck us in?" he asked. "Sure honey" I replied. I took Logan in my left arm and Grace in my right and walked up their room. When I put them down they went to get their pajamas and put them on and climbed into bed. "Sissy, can you tell us a story?" Grace asked. "Sure, what do you wanna hear?" I asked "A story about mommy" Logan replied. "Okay, once there was this beautiful wolf, she was pure white, she was out running one day when she came upon the most amazing smell she has ever smelt, it was her prince. When she saw her prince it was love at first sight, they decided to get married one day and a few months later they had their first pup, a little prince, the beautiful queen told her king that she wanted more so two years later she had another pup, this time it was a little princess, many years later they decided that they wanted to try one more time for another prince, but when she gave birth god graced them with not only a prince but also another princess. They were the happiest people in the kingdom and they lived happily ever after." I told them. "Anna why does Elizabeth hate us?" Grace asked. "Because she doesn't have any children of her own and she wanted to be the beautiful queen in the kingdom" I replied. "Oh. In the morning can you make us pancakes and sausage?" Logan asked. "Sure sweetie, now it's time for bed" "Okay, can you tell daddy goodnight and we love him?" "Yes sweetie i can" I turned their night lights on and shut the door and walked down to my dad's office. "You can come in Annabeth" I walked in and sat on the couch. "What's wrong?" "I just feel overwhelmed dad, I'm always taking care of the twins. I'm only 20 and I shouldn't be acting as their mom. Why isn't Elizabeth trying to be part of the family?" "Honey, I'll talk to her tomorrow. I am so proud of you though, after everything we've been through your still being strong. I know I'm not always around but I'm going to try to be, okay?" I just cuddled into my dad's side some more and cried. "I miss her so much" "So do I honey"
