"Esmé of you don't get your ass up right now we are leaving you." The voice of my charming sister yells from outside of my bedroom. "I'm not kidding you've been sleeping all day.""Izzy I'll be out soon, I don't see the point of this mission anyways." I say and drag myself out of bed. Regretting asking Alec to join this mission, I put on a skin tight red dress after w couple minutes of debating on what I should wear, that goes right above my knees and begin putting on my makeup. Since we are going to a club and trying to attract demons I had to go very dark and all out for my makeup.
"Esmé, Isabelle let's go!" Alec yells obviously annoyed at the amount of time it's taking for Isabelle and I to get ready. After doing some quick finishing touches I walk out into the hallway just in time to see Isabelle walking out of her room carrying an almost white wig.
"Really?" Alec asks and rolls his eyes at Izzy.
"What can I say? Demons dig blondes."
"Yes but that's white." I say not understanding what Izzy is trying to get at.
"Platinum, and they don't exactly like Shakespeare okay you guys." Izzy says.
"Your plenty distracting on your own." Alec says and we all start walking too the front of the institute.
"So be yourself? Is that what you're trying to say?"
"Never mind that Izzy, we're ready Jace." I say and walk to stand beside Jace.
"Nice choice Izzy, demons dig blondes." He says and Izzy looks at both of us with a triumphant smirk.
"Told you."
"Actually Jace its platinum." I roll my eyes and nudge Jace's shoulder, ready for him to explain what we would be doing tonight.
"Alright guys for some reason our demon friends are killing mundanes and draining their blood."
"Why do they want blood isn't that vampire territory?" Alec asks.
"I don't know Alec, lazy vampires maybe?" Jace sarcastically replies.
"Their must be something special about their blood." Izzy says but is cut off by Alec.
"What could be special about mundane blood?"
"You get me a sample and I'll tell you exactly what they're looking for." Izzy says. I don't get why we are having this conversation, can't we just leave and get this over with.
"We'll have more answers when we figure out exactly who the demons are working for."
"So you don't think they're acting on their own?" I finally cut in
"No." Jace replies, I was hoping for more than just that.
"Not exactly creative thinkers, they're shape shifters." Alec says like its the most obvious thing in the world.
"This is what our target looks like." Jace points to a screen with a picture of a short Asian man with glasses on it.
"For now." I say, beginning to feel excited for our mission, even though I would much rather still be in bed.
