"Jocelyn." The girl says and immediately sits up from the bed we had put her on, smacking her head right on Izzys. After everything that had happened at the club, Jace decided to follow the girl back to her house, only to find out that she was somehow was bitten by a demon. Of course demon blood is pretty much like poison, so he brought her back to the institute after she had passed out. Since she has passed out, it has been two days.

"Ow." Izzy says and clothes her head.

"Wait I don't know you.." Carly begins frantically.

"I'm Isabelle, I've never seen Jace so curious about a mundane."

"Or so distracted." I say from beside the bed where I'm standing, annoyed at how much attention Jace is giving the girl. "Like you saw earlier, distractions are dangerous in our line of work."

"I have no idea what your talking about, who's Jace?"

"You really don't know much do you?" Izzy says almost sounding sympathetic.

"All I know is that some psychos took my mother and now you people have taken me." The girl looks at us with a bit of disgust.

"And by taken I assume you mean saved your life." Before clary could respond Alec and Jace walked in.

"A mundane shouldn't even be here." Alec sassily said then rolled his eyes.

"Where is here exactly?"

She's not a mundane Alec." Jace says completely ignoring the girl.

"How do you know that Jace." I cut in again annoyed at jace's new interest in this girl.

"Because the sereph blade lot it when she touched it!" Jace replied just as annoyed with us as we are with him. "Look Isabelle can you.." Jace says and motions for Isabelle to get off of the bed so he can sit down. "I'm Jace Wayland." He says slowly as if the girl is a baby.

"I'm uh..."

"Clary fray, right we know who you are." He cuts her off and then Alec begins speaking again.

"Am I the only one who finds this unusual?"

"No big brother, I think we're both on the same page here." I say walking to stand beside him.

"You two find everything unusual." Jace puts his head in his hands, probably knowing what Alec's next action will be.

"I have to report this to the clave."

"You know what dial it down a notch." Jace again rolls his eyes. This is ridiculous Jace can't be getting mad when he is the one causing all of this drama that is most likely coming because of the mundie girl.

"Our brother doesn't have a dial, I love you Alec but you have a switch that's always on." Izzy says, causing me to be annoyed that she is taking Jace and the mundie girls side.

"I love you too." He sarcastically replies. "But this..." Alec begins and points at the girl but is immediately cut off by Jace.

"You know what could you give me a minute." I quickly grab Alec's arm before he can get into a fight with his parabatai, and pull him out of the room.

"What is with you no really what is with him." Alec stops us and turns around.

"Nope Alec we're done here." I say giving one last glare in Jace's direction and continuing out with Alec, Izzy hot on our trail.

"I'll explain it to you." Izzy says and runs up to Alec's other side, latching her arm onto his.

"We don't know this girl, and there's no such thing as new Shadowhunters."

"There is now."

"You don't find that strange?" I ask Izzy as we all stop so she can look at both of us.

"What I find strange is that you two are so upset, maybe you're upset at the way Jace is looking at her." Izzy says but directs the statement more towards Alec, knowing I would never have feelings for Jace. Jace could be attractive if he wasn't so self centered. "You  know you should be happy that Jace is interested in someone other than himself." Izzy giggles like this is some sort of joke.

"Maybe I'm pissed that she ruined the mission, we never found out who's buying the blood that was our one job." Izzys smile quickly faded as Alec talks very seriously, not in the mood to talk anymore, we both turn away from Izzy and walk towards our rooms.

I didn't really do anything productive for the rest of the day, I sat in my room annoyed with everyone, with the exception of Alec. I stayed within the hallway that contained mine Alec and Izzys bedrooms, and after a while of staying by myself I left to go talk to Alec.

"So, how are you holding up?" I ask Alec, hoping he gets the point I'm trying to make. It's obvious that Alec has feelings for Jace that go beyond just the parabatai bond.

"Es I don't know what your talking about." He says probably already annoyed, but I don't blame him everyone has been on edge since Clary got here.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay, this will all dial down soon enough, we just have to get everything with Clary settled but I swear you and Jace will be just fine." I sit down on his bed beside him and lay my head on his shoulder. Trying to calm him down by rubbing his back soothingly.

"Thanks Esmé, I just feel like nothing will be the same you know? Shadowhunters aren't just made, they have to come from a line of Shadowhunters, but how do we not know who this girl is?" He says putting his head in hands.

"Guys! There's a mundie in the institute that I think you'll want to see." Isabelle shouts from outside of Alec's room. Alec sighs and slowly stands up, honestly I'm a little scared that Alec is just going to snap soon, so much has happened in one day and it has been very stressful on all of us. Honestly Izzy Alec and I are some of the closest siblings that you'll find, we all really watch out for each other since being a Shadowhunter is pretty dangerous, we all try to make sure we treasure every moment we have with each other.

"We'll be out in a minute Izzy." I exit Alec's room, giving him a small comforting smile, following her to the front of the institute.
