This chapter was inspired by the song LA Devotee by Panic! At The Disco.
Mark was excited as he waited for Jack at the airport. The Irishman had never been to Los Angeles before and Mark wanted to give him the full experience. The city was so beautiful, but living there had taken some of the wonder from the skyscrapers and palm trees. He hoped that not only would Jack find the city beautiful, but that maybe Mark could regain some his lost admiration for the city's wonders.
Jack's flight was scheduled to land around 10:30 A.M. He checked his phone for the time and saw it was only 10:19 A.M. Mark felt as if those last twenty-one minutes were a lifetime. He was practically counting down by the second and it only made time seem slower. When the clock finally struck 10:30 A.M. Mark quickly walked over to the pick-up area and raised his silly sign above his head. It read: "I'm here for the green haired leprechaun" with a poorly drawn depiction of Jack with a pot of gold. Jack noticed him immediately and laughed as he raced toward his friend.
"Top o' the mornin' to ya laddie," Jack greeted with a grin putting extra emphasis on his Irish accent.
Mark laid a pat Jack's shoulder as he said, "You are gonna love it here in LA man."
The pair walked towards Mark's car. Jack's excitement was radiating off him. Mark thought it must be infectious as he suddenly couldn't wipe the smile off his face. Jack looked at him as they got in the car. "Whatcha smilin' about Mark?" the Irishman questioned.
"I'm just happy that you're finally here," Mark said with sincerity.
Jack was a little taken aback, but smiled nonetheless and said, "Me too Mark."
Mark left the airport parking lot as the sun set behind him and headed down Interstate 105 toward his home. Jack was mesmerized and stared out the window as they drove through downtown LA. Mark couldn't help the butterflies that tickled his stomach as he watched Jack from the corner of his vision. Jack's mouth even fell open as he saw the fountain in Grand Park. The colors ranging from red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. "It's beautiful," Jack breathed.
"So are you," Mark replied under his breath, not intending for the Irishman to hear.
Jack blushed and looked over at his friend. "What makes you say that?" he questioned.
"I don't like to keep the truth from people," Mark answered and glanced at Jack before returning his eyes to the road.
The rest of the ride to Mark's house was in comfortable silence as the radio quietly played in the background. When they arrived at his home Mark began to get out of the car, but before he could Jack took Mark's hand, looked into his eyes, and said, "Now I see why it's called the 'City of Angels'." Jack placed a chaste kiss on Mark's lips and hurriedly got out of the car. Mark touched a finger to his lips before he too got out of the car and helped Jack get his stuff into the house. Mark hoped for many more kisses from Jack in the future.

A/N: Hey y'all! I uploaded again! I was listening to Panic!'s new album and LA Devotee made me think of this situation. I'm sorry if it's a little awkward in some parts. I never know if I should be more descriptive, or if that would take away from the actual scene. If y'all have any tips feel free to tell me. Corrective criticism is always welcome! Thank you so much! And if you don't mind voting for the chapter, that would be incredibly helpful! It gives the story a little more attention which might entice more people to read. (Giving me more incentive to write!) Thanks again! I will see you guys in the next chapter! (:
