Recap:

When I struck the strings for the last time, I heard an electronic sound coming from Ms. Beckett.

"Sorry, I just had to show you why." She was holding a freaking camera! A camera!

Before I could even say something she walked over to my tv and started rummaging behind it. I carefully put my guitar on the couch and walked towards her. "What do you think you are doing!" To hell with her being a teacher.

"Scarlett, calm down for God's sake! You are acting like a four year old. Please, just wait and see!" Ms. Beckett snapped.

Surprise, surprise, it seemed that she didn't have an endless patience after all.

And then, she turned the tv on and pressed play.

Chapter 6 - Holy sh-. I mean; Holy CRAP!

The moment just before I started singing on the tape, I cringed. I didn't want to hear myself singing. I had recorded myself a few times on a camera, too, but I just didn't like the result.

But when I started singing, I sank down on my red sofa, frankly surprised with the result. This time, I could actually hear the emotions through my voice. I knew that music was nothing without emotions, but I didn't realise that I could apply that to 'my' music, too.

When the song was finished, I noticed Ms. Beckett was smiling at me from across the room.

"I think I have to apologize, Miss. I am sorry for shouting at you." I said reluctantly.

She beamed at me like a little child who just got told that she would get to walk on a double rainbow together with Santa and eating free candy while doing so.. Okay, maybe less, but still.

"Apology accepted, Scarlett. Let's get some work done!" Ms. Beckett unplugged her camera and put it on my coffee table. "I'll leave it here, so you can look at it again if you want to?" The end came out like a question.

"Thanks, but no, thanks. I have one of my own." I answered.

"I know, I had to buy it for you, remember?" Ms. Beckett said, smiling once again. Oh yeah, for my birthday. The school provided me with one gift a year for my birthday. And I got an amount of money every month, but I had never been a big spender, so I had quite some money.

"Excuse me, Miss, but-" I was cut off by a knock on the door. And after one second (probably less) Loralee came barging in.

"Scarlett! You made me wait for dinner! For freaking dinner! I thought something bad had happened to you, you never skip dinner, nor come late!"

While she was shouting at me she marched towards my kitchen and started rummaging through my fridge.

Only when Ms. Beckett coughed after a minute or so, she pulled herself away from the refrigerator and smiled awkwardly.

"I am sorry, Scarlett, I didn't realise you had company. My apologies, Ms. Beckett." she said.

I stiffled a chuckle. Loralee hated the formalities. If it was me standing there, she probably would have asked what the hell my problem was, IF she even pulled herself out of the fridge in the first place!

"Apologies accepted, Ms. Loralee." Ms. Beckett responded while eyeing Loralee, because she had some food near her mouth. I laughed, but quickly turned it into a cough. I know I should tell her, but it's really funny to look at.

However, Ms. Beckett wouldn't be Ms. Beckett if she let Loralee walk around like that.

"Ms. Loralee, there is some food on your face, dear." she said.

"Oh.. Excuse me." Loralee said, while rubbing her face with her navy cardigan, which was now turning a little bit more white.

"Scarlett, the auditorium after dinner, 7 o'clock sharp, please. Good day, Ms. Loralee", Ms. Beckett said while walking out of the dorm into the hallway.

"The same to you." Loralee shouted, grinning at me.

"Pff, glad that's over.." I said while sitting down on my sofa.

When I looked up I saw that Lor was still grinning at me. So I asked a logical question.

"Did your muscles freeze or something? Your face isn't moving."

"Nah" Lor said, still grinning. "I heard you sing! I heard you sing! Lalala!" She was now doing her happy dance which involved dancing like some sort of chicken or something like that.

"So?" I said.

She ran to the sofa and started jumping on it.

"Hey! Stop jumping! I like this sofa and you already ruined the last three, so just sit or start jumping on your own sofa." I said. This was a baaad day.

"Sorry, sorry!!" Now actually sitting on the sofa, she started talking again.

"Soooo, is it going to be your profession, because you are not really good at anything else, if you really think about it."

"Wow, Lor, thank you so much for this confidence boost. I really appreciate it." I rolled my eyes. Way to subtle.

"Sorry again, but it's the truth, right? Right? Okay, so, we have to pick a song, and decide whether so are going solo or-"

"Awesome, almost starving, have to go!!" And with those words I sprinted out of my dorm, on my way to the dining hall.
