Chapter 2
It was just before sunset as Rowan arrived in the woods near Larissa’s house. He had watched her often over the last few weeks and knew not only her daily schedule, but her plans for what the mortals called Halloween. Hearing a fluttering sound the blonde man looked back to see four darker colored falcons fly down and transform into his personal guards.
“Dason. What are you doing here?” Rowan questioned. “I don’t remember requesting your presence.”
“No highness but the queen insisted we accompany you,” The captain of his personal guard replied. “Her majesty does not want you in the mortal realm alone when enemies can easily approach.”
Rowan sighed. Leave it to his mother to complicate an already complicated task. “I will not be impeded.”
“Nor does your mother want you to be,” Blaine assured his prince. “She simply wants you to be free to approach the girl without having to worry about whom else may be around.”
The prince still wasn’t sure about having anyone else with him but nodded. They were here and would not leave his side until he returned to the kingdom now no matter what he said. “Come.” The men followed and they soon neared the girl’s house.
The prince narrowed his eyes seeing two of the girl’s friends who always interrupted their time.
“Would I be wrong in thinking you don’t care for the two mortals ahead?” Dason inquired.
“They often interrupt my time with Larissa,” The prince replied openly annoyed. “They are an annoyance I wouldn’t mind being rid of.”
“Larissa!” The two girls called in unison.
“I’m coming!” She yelled back.
It was only a few minutes and they saw a woman with long curly blonde hair come out of the house dressed in a long white lace gown. “What do you think?” She asked and spun for her friends to look at her.
“What are you?” The red head named Tiffany asked.
“Galandriah from lord of the rings. You know the elf,” Larissa said pleased.
“Okay elf girl, let’s go,” Mandy said.
“Hey I’m just not afraid to go against the norm miss cat and miss genie,” She told her friends. Larissa started down the stairs and glancing to the right she saw the five men. Realizing they had seen her she blushed but gave a smile before her friends suddenly began dragging her away.
Rowan was too busy admiring how beautiful the girl looked to even notice the blush. His heart skipped as she gave him a small smile before being dragged away.
“It is she you have been flying off to see?” Dason said wanting confirmation.
“Yes.” Frowning at the girl being taken away once again he said, “Perhaps you being here is fortunate after all. I may need you to distract those two.” Suddenly the prince transformed and took to the air. His guards quickly followed. They followed the girls until they entered a large open area where a Halloween party was taking place. The fae quickly entered a secluded area before transforming back to their fae forms.
The heir to Rosina entered the area and began scanning the area for where the three women had gone. It didn’t take him long before he caught sight of the blonde woman across the field. He smiled seeing the girl. Determined to speak with her Rowan began making his way her direction. The prince cared not if his guards followed or not.
