chapter twenty-two

Harry's seen in a cafe with another man and Louis busies himself with the break, going back and forth between countries that even the fans are confused. Fortunately, management's not (yet) throwing shit at them and he's enjoying this break quite... quite. That also means Harry's been going out with different people willingly.

God, what is his twisted mind thinking? It's like he owns Harry or something. Even if they're officially together, Harry's not a property. It's worse now because they aren't together. Louis' just a fuck buddy to Harry and it isn't fair. He can't be jealous; he has no right to freak out when Harry enjoys other people.

Harry calls him that night when Louis' eating dinner by himself, "Lou."

"Hey, Haz. Have you eaten dinner? I'm quite enjoying myself here." Louis informs, standing by the balcony in his hotel room.

"Miss you." It's only been a month into the break, "Can I... can I come see you?" Yes, a million times, yes.

Louis sighs, running a hand through his hair, "We still do booty calls?" God, he misses Harry, so, so much. Hearing his voice right now is just enough for him, though.

"What..." Harry squeaks, "Booty call? Lou, I just wanted to see you, hang out probably."

"It always ends up just like that, anyway." Louis chuckles to soothe the tension, "I'm quite surprised you didn't forget me yet." And then he can't stop himself, "What, with all the men you've been with, I doubt you'll still remember me."

Harry's silent on the other side just as Louis starts regretting what he just said. He speaks up after getting his silence, "Is that... why would you say that?"

"I'm sorry, Harry-"

"No, why?" Harry says firmly.

Louis takes a deep breath, "You have been with different people each day and... and it bothers me."

"You're not the only person in my life, Louis." Harry replies coldly.

"I know, God, I'm sorry." Louis bites down on his lip, "Harry."

"I don't know why I even called you." Harry scoffs from the other side, "I wanted us to hang out simply because I miss you and then you start blabbering about how I... god." Harry says with a tone of disbelief, "I know you're aware of what I feel towards you, but... that's not right." And then he hangs up.

Louis stares down at his phone. He repeats Harry's words over and over again. I know you're aware of what I feel towards you...

Well, Louis doesn't know.
