Tock. Tock. Tock. Three loud knocks came from my door.
I don't want to see or talk to anyone. Maybe if I stay quiet, that person will leave.
Tock. Tock. Tock. Tock. Four louder and faster knocks came from outside followed by a slightly audible "ugh".
"Calvin open the door, its hard to stand here and think that this is the wrong apartment again. I already knocked on three innocent people's doors." A voice of a woman came from outside, "Also, these stuff are heavy."
I stood up, careful not to make any noise as to make the woman think no one is at home. I almost bumped my knee on the coffee table and knocked the pile of books off of it.
A very victorious "Aha!" came from the other side of the door. She sounded like she found some mysterious artifact that could be a clue for finding Atlantis. "Open up! Cmooon," she spoke again.
Cursing, I made my way through the apartment (it was really messy, I was never fond of cleaning. Cath would do it and she's always complaining that her back hurts because of tidying the place up) and ripped the door open. Standing outside was Eileen.
Eileen was one of the first people to know about what happened to Catherine and has ever since tried to cheer me up.
"Hey!" Eileen greeted me.
"So I brought some fruits for you, here, take them," she then proceeded to put a whole basket of fruits into my hands and pointed at one very odd-looking fruit and said, "that one I believe is from Vietnam. The woman I bought it from told me it can be used for making tea."
"And that one," she pointed at a bruised banana, "was given to me by one of the people who I knocked on a while ago. Its a totally free banana!"
I thanked her and tried to close the door. Eileen seemed to know what I was about to do so she quickly went inside.
"You need to go outside and breathe some fresh air!" She said after she had a good look of the place, "seriously, it smells like feet in here."
"I am perfectly fine with the air inside my apartment, thank you very much," I replied as I put the fruits down on the coffee table.
"Don't be silly, Cal. C'mon put some nice clothes on, we're going to that new coffee shop," Eileen said, obviously not taking a no for an answer.
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing now?" I asked.
"Well if you'd rather wear a bathrobe to the coffee shop then let's go now." She replied.
I forgot that I was wearing this. Ugh this stress is not making me think straight.
Tapping her foot impatiently, she said, "Come ooooon, its just around the corner! Maybe just two blo-"
"Alright!" I said walking away, throwing my hands in the air in frustration before Eileen could say anything else.
