"Goodbye, my daughter." I smiled down at my newborn child. I had just named her Lyra, just as I had named her twin Felix.
Lyra gurgled and reached towards her brother from her basket. Felix smiled and giggled as he too reached from my arms
for his twin, his other half. I kissed Lyra's forehead and backed away from the door. As I walked away, she began to cry which made Felix sniffle but he didn't cry. I wiped my tears with the back of my free hand.
The separation was for their own good. They were strong when apart and even stronger when together. I loved both of my twins, my only children, Lucifer's strongest children, and I vowed to do what had to be done.
I looked down at Felix. "I'll make sure you and your sister are protected."
