We have been running for two days straight now. Only stopping to eat and to rehydrate.
" we need to find a place to sleep, a peice of land to call our own." Jake said.
"I already have Jake, I bought the land last month. I was worried that something like this would happen...I just wanted a back up plan for when it did. I can't thank you and Jessie enough for giving up the lives you knew to leave with me. It means the world to me."
"You don't have to thank us Mana, the only reason we stayed as long as we did was for you. We knew you wanted to see if your mate was in the pack."
"I'm just wondering why my wolf isn't howling and crying about the rejection. Hell, she hasn't talked at all. I don't even know her name!!!" I cry out.
"Hmm. Never heard of that happening. Maybe Vincent wasn't your true mate?" Jessie questioned.
"Your sister is correct my child, Vincent/Devin wasn't our true mate. He was meant to be our second chance if our true mate turned us away." My wolf says to me.
"I never knew that we had second chance mates...and can you please tell me your name? I don't want to have to keep saying 'my wolf says'."
"Sorry my child. My name is Lunar."
"But wait, I thought the Moon Goddesses wolf was named Lunar?" I said to her.
"That I am my child. You see Selene is getting tired. She has been watching over all her children for thousands of years. Within the last two centuries she has been searching for a wolf with a pure heart to take her place."
"What does that have to do with me?" I asked Lunar.
"You my dear, are that wolf.."
"Is it just because I'm a white wolf? What about my brother and sister? Their wolves are black. They're powerful also" I thought out loud.
"That is true, they were born to lead by your side. One as a Beta, the other to lead your Warriors."
"But who is to be my Beta, and who is to lead the Warriors?" I asked her.
"That is for you to decide Nova." Lunar replied "Fallow your heart." After that Lunar went quiet.
I had a lot to think about, to sort through.
"Lee? Lee Lee?" I hear as I'm shaken from my thoughts and talk with my wolf.
"Jessie, you were right. Vincent isn't my true mate. He is my second chance mate. My true mate is still out there!!!" I cry happy tears as I tell her.
"Wait, what are you talking about??!" Jessie asked.
"Well, I'm the next Moon Goddess. Jessie, and you are to lead my warriors, and Jake, you are to be my Beta." I exclaims happily!
"How do you know this?" Jake asked me with a confused look on his face.
"My wolf is Lunar, the Moon Goddesses old wolf. Selene has been searching for a human with a pure heart. I am that wolf. I am the Chosen One...."
