Hannah's POV;
We left later that morning, boarding our flight at around 11. We were flying to Barbados, where we would be getting on the ship from Bridgetown. We arrived in Barbados at around 7 in the evening for us, though it was around 2 in the afternoon for them so we stopped for some lunch. Lewis took me to a small restuarant close by the harbour, so that we wouldn't miss our ship. A few hours later, we checked onto the ship. We were shown to our room and I realised just how much effort it must have been to get this all sorted in just a few weeks.
"Sorry, I know it's not the most spaceous place but it was the biggest they had" Lewis explained, his arms snaking around my waist. I laughed softly, twisting myself around in his arms to face him.
"It's amazing Lewis" I replied, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"There's one more place to show you." He said with a smirk, taking my hand and leading me out of the room and up onto the top deck. The sun was beginning to set on the horizon and the harbour was now out of sight. For miles all that could be seen was the sea. It was so much calmer than back in England, and it was much clearer too. The calm sound of the waves was blissful compared to the constant sound of speeding cars, traffic jams and running computers. I turned to see Lewis holding a rose in his hand, causing me to laugh.
"You're so soppy, did you know that?" I joked, leaning against his chest.
"I know, you've told me before." He chuckled, tucking the rose into my hair. "I've just got to go back to the room quickly, you stay here!" He ordered and before I had a chance to question him, he was gone. I pulled out my phone and perched myself on one of the many benches that were dotted around the deck. I had one new text from Minty;
'Hi Hannah, I hope you're enjoying yourself out there! Don't worry about the boys being in charge, I'm keeping my eye on them! Have a good time and I'll see you in a week.
- Anya (Minty) x'
I laughed to myself, at least I knew she was watching them. I heard footsteps and turned to see Lewis approaching me once again.
"What are you laughing at?" He questioned, smiling.
"It was nothing, just a text from Minty," I explained, "Why did you need to go back to the room?"
"Go ahead and see." He replied, sparking my curiousity. I wandered down the corridors and back to our room, slipping the keycard into the door and unlocking it. On the bed was a heart made from rose petals and in the center sat a small black box with a card. I picked up the small black box, gently lifting the lid. Inside was a silver band with a diamond resting in the center. I glanced back at Lewis, who gestured towards the card. I picked it up, opening the envelope and reading the words carefully;
'Miss Rutherford,
This cruise wasn't just to get away from the stress. I've been wanting to ask you this for months, but I just couldn't find the right time until now. So..'
"Hannah, will you marry me?" Lewis asked and I nodded, unable to speak. He took the black box from my hand and took the ring out, sliding it onto my finger. I pulled him in, burying my face in the crook of his neck. He rested his chin on my head gently, stroking my hair.
"I love you." He said, his voice soft and calm for the first time in years.
"I love you too."

-3 Days Later-
"Hannah, Hannah get up!" Lewis shouted. My eyes cracked open and I could only just make him out in the darkness of the room.
"Lewis, what are you doing? The sun isn't even up yet" I groaned, before rolling over and pulling the covers over myself. He pulled them off and pulled me up, shaking me from my tired state. Only then did I notice the alarms.
"Hannah, the boat's sinking!" He yelled, throwing me some clothes to put on. Without hesitation I threw the clothes on and followed him onto the top deck. It was flooding with people, all scrambling to get to the lifeboats. I glanced over at Lewis, who was probably thinking the same thing as me. We had to jump.
We took two life jackets and put them on, bracing ourselves for what was about to happen. The boat jolted as it began going down even more and we both knew it was now or never. We climbed over the white rails and I grabbed Lewis' hand, closed my eyes and jumped. It felt like we were falling forever, and when we actually stopped I wished we had just kept on falling. The water was more violent before, the waves now going over our heads.
"Lewis!" I called out, searching around me for any sign of him. I saw his dark brown hair a few metres away from me, but no matter how much I tried to reach him, the waves just kept pushing me back. I could feel myself giving up, my body was becoming tired. A large waves came over me, pulling me under the water. I battled to get back to the surface, but I just kept getting pulled further. I ran out of breath and I let myself drift down, the current slowly moving me. How did it all go wrong?
Lewis' POV;
I was woken by a cold sensation against my feet. Water? I sat up, my head throbbing. Looking around I realised I was sat on a beach, the sea lapping at my feet. I thought for a moment about how I got here. I was on a ship, then it started sinking and I jumped and.. Hannah. Where is she?! I immediatly got to my feet, searching around for any sign of her. I spotted something a few metres away from me, a small piece of teal fabric. It was Hannah's scarf. I looked just beyond where the jacket lay and spotted her, laying limp next to a collection of rocks. I sprinted towards her, my heart racing.
"Hannah?" I whispered as I reached her, "Please be alright." Her skin was bruised and bloodied where she had been pushed up against the jagged rocks by the waves, but she was still breathing. I glanced down at her hand to see the ring was still there, seeming to be the only part of her that wasn't damaged. Suddenly, her blue eyes flickered open, looking up at me. She attempted to sit up but her injuries stopped her and she collapsed back into the sand.
"Lewis, what happened?" She asked and I sighed.
"We jumped from the ship, the current took both of us and we ended up here, you seem to have ended up worse than me though." I explained. She glanced down slightly, looking over herself. She picked up her scarf from where I had placed it beside her and began tying it around one of her wounds.
"That'll do for now, now help me up?" She asked, holding out her hand to me. I took it, pulling her up.
"I guess our best chance would be to follow that road?" I suggested, pointing towards a small dirt road leading further inland. Hannah nodded and with that we both set off along the dirt road, hoping for any sign of civilization.
